We have stayed at a number of Americinns in the past few years. Most are adequate. This one was not. The room carpet was dirty. The bathroom was very small and had two ceiling tiles missing. The room did have a refrigerator, and the beds were adequate. There was a smoky smell when you walked in. All in all, it needed a makeover. The breakfast was OK.

Room Tip: Stay at the Blackbear casino just south of town.

Smokefree? I don't think so, they place was stinky! Bathroom looked like it was from 1981. They tried to clean up the hotel with new furniture, but it is way to big for the room - could hardly walk between bed and TV cabinet. Towels sucked too.

I have stayed at many AmericInns and have been pleased...was a bit disappointed with this one.
The actual room was okay as it was remodeled, however, the window looked out onto some other building which was three feet away; the halls and doors of the room looked old and uncared for, there was some kind of old numbers on the doors...which made it feel like a dorm room?! If new carpeting was put in the hallways and the doors
refinished would be much better! The staff was very nice. The breakfast area was nice and the food good.

I stayed at this Americ Inn several times in the past 15 Years and I always had a Nice Quality Room. They always have a nice staff of people working for them and I always got a room that was clean and had all the amenitys. Including a nice size refrigerator. The pool area was very clean and had plenty of towels to use. I plan on staying here again in the future and I hope you will to...

Room Tip: Pool Suites are a nice way to go if you like to swim.

It's for vacuuming those hard-to-reach places, such as around the edge of the room or up against the night stand.

I almost feel bad leaving a poor review, as the staff were so nice. They really were; and the breakfast was great. However, it takes more than good eggs and "Minnesota Nice" to erase the nightmares.

The room was in need of repair; if it had a closet, I never found it; what I initially thought was a two-tone carpet job (impressive!) actually turned out to be a dark ring of filth around the entire perimeter of the room (..and the let down), and when I turned on the heater it instantly made the whole room and everything in it, including me and my clothes, smell like jail. I know, it's normal for heaters to smell when you first crank them up; this wasn't normal. It smelled like rat pee and cigarette butts. And jail.

Other than all of that, it was a great stay. Did I mention the staff was very nice?

Room Tip: Choose one somewhere else.

Older hotel but updated - new furniture and beds. Nice and quiet even with a whole team of junior league roller derby girls staying also. Great bed, nice new furniture, TV, Fridge and microwave. Would stay again.

Our stay was nice, we were in town for a hockey tournament. Requested adjoining rooms with some family and easily got them. Pool area was good, has hot tub and sauna. Breakfast was good. Staff was helpful and friendly. My son was sick during the night and we had to change out bedding. The staff member at the front desk handled it very well and was very helpful in getting us everything that we needed. The room was nice overall and appeared to have all new furniture and fresh paint. Will stay there again.
