As previous reviews state....we can confirm tranquility, relaxing, friendly and simply peaceful. Home faces the lake, clean and is exceptionally cousy and warm! Elaine is a fantastic Innkeeper and host. Just what you would expect from a B&B. Breakfast was amazing and please note that those of you who have food allergies, glutten free, etc. let her know. Elaine is well prepared to ensure your needs are met. The area also boasts very nice antique shows if you are interested.

Room Tip: There are three rooms. The attic room is awesome. One with a bathroom. One w/out. The one with the b...

The experience at Summit Inn was truly an experience in tranquility. The views facing the lake were calming and sunsets almost equal to those at our cottage on Lake Erie in Pennsylvania. Our host Elaine Sommers presented us with gourmet breakfasts accompanied by soft music, candle light and fine china. A truly calming way to begin our day. Her home is well appointed, comfortable, and the linens on the bed were luxurious. Hers is a gracious and hospitable gentility not often found when traveling. Ann & Kevin

My wife and I spent one night at the Summit Inn and it was very special! Elaine is a fantastic Innkeeper and host. She made sure our stay was exceptional by providing everything a person would want in a B & B. The little touches and attention to detail were wonderful. I highly recommend staying here, you will not regret it. It is everything a B & B should be. And you will leave relaxed and with a new friend. Everything you could possibly wish for is here. And wonderful food on top of everything else!
Thank you Elaine

My wife and I stayed for a night the week between Christmas and New Year's. The house is beautiful and filled with period antiques including an organ. There is a fireplace in the large living room that faces the lake, we enjoyed sitting by the fire and reading books in the evening. It was very quiet as there were not other guests at this time. Elaine was very welcoming and friendly. Even if the B and B were filled, there seemed to be enough common spaces spread thoughout the house to allow for quiet and seclusion if that's what you are seeking. The third floor has its own sitting area, fireplace, and enormous bathroom, which is much different from the second floor bedrooms. If you enjoy having a place to spread out and sit within the privacy of your own room, the third floor suite is the way to go.

My only complaint was nothing about the inn, but about the lack of fine dining in the area. We stayed on a Tuesday in the winter, and most of the restaraunts in the calibre of Tangled Up in Blue and Grecco's are only open Thurs-Sunday.

We have stayed at a number of B&B's, and this was among the best experiences we have had. The owner has taken the trouble to make sure that this old Victorian house is not only beautiful but comfortable and private: there are double walls between the rooms (we never heard anyone else, except in the hallway), heated floors in the closets-turned-into-bathroom, high-count cotton sheets and ergonomic pillows, complementary wine... many of those little touches that make the difference between "nice" and "wonderful." Elaine is a great host, giving you just the right amount of attention. We'll be back!

Room Tip: The rooms on the second floor are small, and only have one chair, so we couldn't sit in the room...

We stayed at the Summit Inn for a weekend to attend my friend's wedding in St. Croix Falls. The house is beautiful and charming! Very nicely furnished and comfortable. The property is overlooking the lake and a beautiful setting for fall. The breakfasts were outstanding! Very rich and filling and delicious. Elaine, the innkeeper, is friendly, accommodating and very welcoming. She even has wine and cheese for you on your arrival. Very convenient for traveling to Taylors' Falls and St. Croix Falls. I would definitely return for a beautiful fall weekend away any time. The only thing was the bathroom in our suite was kind of small and the doors are semi-transparent, so unless you are very comfortable with your companion, they'll have to leave the room when you use the bathroom!

Room Tip: I'd recommend the Sunset room, even though the bathroom is down the hall, it is probably more co...

One of our best experieices at a B&B, Elaine is just the perfect Innkeeper, just talking with her you begin to think of reasons to return. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the Inn is just as charming, nice quite location, beautiful view of the lake and convienient to Talyor Falls, St Croix Falls and the Franconia Sculture Park. Elaine thought of all the right details to make you feel at home, wine and cheese, nightime snacks, coffee brought to your room in the morning and don't miss the sunsets from the gazebo!

Room Tip: 3rd floor suite has a great view of teh lake and a fireplace
