The spa and hotel were reccomended to me by a few people .. We arrived at the spa at 11..only to find that there were no robes for us as they were in our hotel rooms ..we couldn't check in to our room until 3. The spa manager was very good and accommodated us by getting them for us . We were expecting a bit more of a luxurious area .. Nice loungers round the pool but all there was were cheap white garden centre loungers... The steam room is well used .. A swell as the changing area. There was no facility for coffee or refreshments without getting fully dressed and going to the courtyard bar.couldnt fault the food or service in the bar .. But was disappointed with the quality of coffee used. The four of us were given treatments in the same room .. Wernt given a choice .. The hotel rooms and staff were very good ... Food at night was outstanding .. Same for breakfast the following morning .. Superb choice on the buffet ... But was let down with the coffee. Found the hotel and spa cold ... Stunning building and views.food quite expensive at lunch.

Just 2 nights but would have happily stayed longer.
Good value, amenities and friendly service.
Dining room for the more expensive dinners, otherwise the bar meals are good value.
A good centre for walking and seeing local towns.

Room Tip: Ask at reception

Stayed at this hotel in october 12. Check in was quick and the staff very friendly. It was abit of a hike to the room lucky we only had hand luggage as only stayed 1 night. Room was nice and clean. It was on the dark side. The bathroom was brighter. Breakfast was ok thought it would of been abit better with it being a 4 star hotel. It was buffet style but think the food could have been a little more stocked up. Help yourself to tea and toast also which i was surprised to see. The hotel grounds are lovely and peaceful with it being a golf course. So was lovely for a peaceful sleep. Overall i would say the hotel was nice but i did expect a little more

32 gents stayed for a weekends golf on what was an extremley wet course, surprised the course stood up so well although judging by the hangovers on the Sunday the bar certainly did good business.
Room was comfortable and breakfast surprisingly good only realy problem was finding the room in the first place, thank god we were relatively sober at checkin otherwise we would never have found our rooms.
Overall a decent venue for a weekends golf, shame about the course hopefully next time they will cut the greens

We only stayed one night as we were visiting family in Macclesfield, but would have happily stayed more. We were given an upgraded room at the front of the hotel which was beautiful, everything was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent.

Today i had a spa day, the massage was excellent and the tranquility room was just that tranquil with restful decor .

All the staff were friendly, chatty and helpful, bringing us drinks when we asked. I will definitely go back for another spa day. The only suggestion I have is there could have had a few more loungers in the pool area.

I had lunch in the courtyard restaurant where the service and food were excellent. The barman went off to find some soya milk for me, I felt nothing was too much trouble. They had run out of a few things on the menu though.

My sister was bought the 3 hr spa package for her 50th birthday. I accompanied her and the whole day was a treat from start to finish. We ahd full use of the gym and swimming facilities. We were both given slippers, bathrobes and lovely big towels. Lunch was included. The staff in the health and fitness suite, Coutyard bar and rest of the hotel were welcoming, warm and friendly. Have stgayed here on a fitness weekend and would thoroughly reccomend it to anyone wanting a bit of pampering. Our Halloween treat w2as the best ever.
