“A friendly Night Auditor and great bed”
Reviewed September 13, 2010

I get in late and leave early a lot of times so most of interaction is with the Night Auditor -the folks that work the overnight shift. Any overnight/3rd shift work has to be tough so I understand why they are not the pleasant. but ANDY who works overnight here at HI Burnsville was fantastic. Totally took care of me- arranged the cab, double checked I was up and even the started the coffee for me. Seriously! Started the coffee early! That was such a big deal for me. So Andy- the service you give in the middle of the night is a big deal and appreciated...

I was not happy with my stay here. The hotel desperately needed updated. The same can be said for the room, which was small. The hotel and room was clean, but again, it needed updating. The staff was friendly.

Thanks to Laura & Becky for making our stay at the Hampton perfect. Their suggestions of great places to eat and shop made our stay perfect. We would stay here again next time that we are in Burnsville.

Heavy-handed security guard was not just gruff with our children and others in our group - he was offensive. Would not allow our group of adults (5-6) to chat in the lobby and threatened to call the police when we tried to explain that we weren't harming anything. I understand the need for security, but ... this went way, way overboard. No problem, however; for our next trip we took our ten-room group to the Holiday Inn across the street and were warmly welcomed. In this economy, if you can afford to turn down ten rooms for three nights, well, I guess, that just shows that some guests don't really care where they stay.

We stayed at the Burnsville Hampton Inn for three nights and this hotel will be our choice of hotels when we visit there again. Our hotel room was very clean, fresh, and very reasonably priced. We were upgraded to a Study room which gave us a little more space. We had a microwave and refrigerator in-room which was nice. The front desk was very pleasant and helpful. They have a nice indoor pool and whirlpool room just off the lobby. They have a very large selection of foods for their complimentary breakfast from fresh fruit to hot selections. In spite of being surrounded by highways and ramps, the room was very quiet.

I have stayed at this hotel 4-5 times in the past and it was always great. However it was starting to get a little dated. I returned in December and....WOW! It looks like a brand new hotel inside. The rooms look like a 5 star hotel room. I was very impressed with the new look. The staff was always the main reason why I would choose this hotel. But now a great staff and beautiful accommodations? Doesn't get much better than this. Love the hot breakfast in the morning, and Elmer!! I have stayed at just about every hotel in the Burnsville area, and believe me when I say that it doesn't get better than this! Hope this helps!
