Lyle and I had always heard how interesting this museum was so he stopped in and arranged a day and time for our car club, Chevy's Best, to stop in and see the place. A few in the group had been there before and couldn't say enough about the fantastic collection.
When the day arrived and we finally got out there, it was more than amazing .... a hidden gem in the countryside where one could spend days looking at this fine collection and reading and hearing about the history of each item. The items were amazing as were the buildings and grounds. We were fortunate, too, to see Mr Veit that day as he was the one who hosted the group. He and his staff were patient and answered every one of our many questions. We saw it all ... the beautiful scenic drive up the driveway to the car museum buildings, the many different buildings and collections as well as the garage mural, the amazing yards and gardens and the beautiful horse barn. We were also fortunate to see several of the horses and had a chance to talk to some of the staff there, too, who also answered every single question thrown at them.
So, we highly recommend calling and making plans to visit this beautiful place in Monticello. What a true treasure!
