This is the place to stay if you come by yacht or sailboat!! If not, you Must rent a car as it is 1 hour from Freeport & restaurants. Very friendly & helpful staff, but hard to get a hold of due to limited staff on premises during our stay. A regular grocery store in the area would have been nice or a basic food pantry on site would have helped. Just prepare ahead of time as there is only 1 small beach hut that serves food & where you can get ice. Secluded area with beautiful views right outside your French doors. Peaceful & relaxing. Not a place for restless tourists. Rooms were fantastic & tastefully decorated. Prepare to get lost when driving around because there are NO signs on West End. Also, bring plenty of cash because no ATMs to be found & no one takes credit cards (except hotel) That said, be sure to inform your bank you will be in the Bahamas as all 3 credit cards I had with me were put on fraud alert & placed on hold. Very inconvenient because there's No cellular/wifi service despite having a global plan & setting up roaming prior to leaving US. There is service in Freeport though. I would definitely come here again, but by boat. Otherwise, it's a hassle due to transportation, & food limitations. The Bahamian people are super nice & always go out of their way to help when you are lost. That's a rarity in the states. I give a 2 thumbs up for this hideaway!

We appreciate receiving your kind review. Your travel tips will no doubt come in handy to future visitors. The resort does have complimentary WiFi, sorry to hear if it was not working during your stay. We are also getting ready to open a 2nd, indoor restaurant, scheduled to open by April 1st. We hope you will enjoy it on your next visit!

We arrived at the resort after a delayed flight but my feelings changed when I entered the room, very classy and clean. It was too cold to enjoy the pool but we did eat at the beach bar. The food was very good but expensive for a family with five people. And it is hard to get food in between, I mean during the day for our kids. This place would be lovely in the warm weather. It is my kind of place, quiet and peaceful. The West End of Grand Bahama is not for everyone as it is a bit quiet , but if you are seeking a really nice people experience and great native bahamian food , this is wonderful.

Room Tip: All inclusive would be perfect !!

The location is quiet and peaceful. Old Bahama Bay is away from the touristy areas. The food was great. The staff could not be any more kind and helpful. The view and beach are fantastic. There are enough activities to do around the resort. I would love to return to the resort. Just wish the bar had champagne!

Room Tip: Oceanfront view is best

We arrived at the resort after a terrible time with missing luggage, missing rental car and overall feeling of dread. We were greated by the gate guard ( around 9:30 pm )who was so helpful getting our bags to the room over the giant puddles. Huge storm that night.
My feelings changed when I entered the room, very classy and clean. It was too cold to enjoy the pool but we did eat at the beach bar. The food was very good. But in all the 5 days, I never once anywhere on the the island had a GOOD cup of coffee. This place woujld be lovely in the warm weather. It is my kind of place, quiet and peaceful. I will be back when it is warmer later on this year.

My wife and I returned here for the fourth time in a year . The West End of Grand Bahama is not for everyone as it is a bit quiet , but if you are seeking a really nice people experience and great native bahamian food , this is wonderful. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable with great views if you choose the Oceanfront option. We are in the Bakery business and bring treats to the Island which are shared with everyone we can , and it is amazing how appreciative everyone is . Each morning we go fishing with a guide who we have gone with for years and we then wander to the village and eat the fish at a small but amazing Restaurant called "The Chicken Nest" . The people at the Hotel are totally welcoming and genuinely appreciative of any kindness . The Restaurant Teasers at the Hotel has great native food . Eat the fish stew or boiled fish with homemade grits for breakfast and you are happy the rest of the day . Nice people...comfortable rooms and peaceful surroundings make for a great get away .
