We stay at Old Bahama Bay marina on our way in and out of the Bahamas. We have always found the marina services to be very good, the staff are friendly and helpful, the slips are big. Stable shore power. Although we haven't stayed on the rooms, they seem quite nice. Food at the restuarants is good. Their cracked conch is excellent! Although they are isolated from anything else, they have a beach and you can rent water toys. They also have a nice pool and the grounds are lovely.

Paradise! I'm a pilot ; so I've been fortunate enough to travel a lot, and have stayed at many great hotels, so trust me on this: this place is excellent ! The room is tastfully decorated, comfortable and pristine. You can walk out to the beach from your bedroom. Service was awsome ! Everybody was super friendly and corteous, eager to make your stay a memorable one. Food was fresh and tasty, five star presentation . The gym is well equiped. The pool was super clean and at the right temperature. Beautifull landscaping.
The ocean was calm and the breeze just perfect ; I only wish they had wind-surfing equipment ! But there are other activities available anyways...
Can't wait to go back for a longer stay ... one of my favorite destinations in the Bahamas !

I was flown to West End Grand Bahama to discuss the airport which services the western most part of the island. The islands developers put us up at Old Bahama Bay, and wow....talk about Utopia! From the beautiful rooms, to the great staff, this property is 5 Star all the way!

Whether you are looking for off the beaten path, a state of the art Marina, or just some true relaxation and privacy, Old Bahama Bay truly can not be beat. I would highly recommend!

We originally selected this hotel because it was part of the marina (charter for shark adventure left from here) and we're so glad we did.
This resort was perfect for us! Very quiet, secluded and cozy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Many guests had boats docked at the marina so you met new people every night. Food was very good and the service was personal and staff very accomodating. Conch was caught and cleaned every day, right on the beach by the Straw Bar (Teasers) and don't miss out on the coconut french toast for breakfast. Drinks of choice: Bahama Mama and Sharkbite.
Rooms were clean, comfortable and the view we had was second to none. The kitchenette was great.
We rented a car and stopped at Solomon's to buy some fruit, pop and snacks. The drive from the airport was approx. 45 minutes. There's nothing else in the West End so some may be disappointed that there aren't a lot of other dining choices close by.
The beach was a little rocky in spots but the water was clear and the snorkeling was great. We saw stingrays, barracuda, conch, angelfish, starfish and many different varieties of marine fish.
Make sure you take bug spray.
We will definitely return to Old Bahama Bay!

Stayed 7 nights at OBB and it was everything that we hoped for. Read all the reviews so I had a good idea of the good, the bad and the ugly. We had no uglies, just the good. It was exactly what we wanted, a secluded beach resort where you felt like you were on a tropical island. Quiet, relaxing, plush accommodations, rode the free bikes into the canal residence, snorkeled, at at both the Straw Bar and Bonefish Alley restaurants (both great)! We did rent a car and would recommend it as resort is very remote, with not much nearby and about 40 mins to Freeport. We found service to be very good. It was our best ever vacation and made our stay Fantabulous!

We vacationed at another location right in Freeport & decided to take a drive out to the West End. It is slowly building up to quite a resort destination.
We came to the end ofthe road which is where Old Bahama Bay is situated. We didn't turn around at the security gate like we did 2 years ago, instead we drove up and asked if we were allowed on the property. We were pleasantly welcomed & invited to enjoy lunch & their beach facilities.
The security at the gatehouse took our driver's name & recorded our license plate # and directed us to park at no charge.
Lunch was great at the beachside. The waitstaff seemed well trained in hotel hospitality. I know Carribean cultures tend to be more lax, but this place was exceptional.
We inquired about the accomadations & we were taken to view a vacant unit. To me that was above & beyond what I would expect staff to do for a visitor, but it was also smart business on their part. It certainly got me exploring Old Bahama Bay's website.
