We have been eating at Fat Nat's Brooklyn Park location for years, principally for their breakfast menu. The food is hardly good for you but boy is it delicious! Using the freshest ingredients and providing servings which are perhaps on the large side, Nat's has never failed to meet with or exceed our satisfaction.

The Brooklyn Park restaurant is busy, especially so on the weekends when waits of up to 30 minutes can sometimes occur. Sometimes hectic, always a bit loud but always a fun environment in which great food is enjoyed by families and friends alike.

Favorites include Huevos Rancheros Chorizo, Norm's omelette and any of their pancakes which are huge and yummy! For maximum caloric impact, try Fat Nat's Slider, which is nuts from the start but oh-so tasty!

There are only a chosen few places we call true favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities and for breakfast, Fat Nat's is one of them. With three locations, it's easy enough to find one close-by. Give Nat's a chance, you won't regret it!

Fat Nat's is a breakfast lover's dream come true, especially for those looking for an amazing Eggs Benedict. My daughter and I have been going to Nat's semi-regularly for about three years now and typically order the Eggs Benedict. Every once in a while we order something different and have been pleased but we always come back to their Benedict. The secret is Nat's homemade hollandaise sauce which sets it far apart from any other Eggs Benedict we have tried elsewhere.

The atmosphere is that of any diner which, yes, can be "noisy" compared to, say, some stuffy white tablecloth establishment where the servers speak in hushed and reverant tones but that's part of the charm at Nat's. It is not uncommon to hear the kitchen staff drumming or singing along to rock music from the kitchen which is also atmospheric and not at all disruptive to the experience. Again, part of the charm.

Fat Nat's is an upbeat and happy place where regulars gather at the counter or in the booths. It's a family-owned placed and the servers always appear happy to be there. Yes, it can be very busy, especially on weekends. But if you think about it, this is simply because the place is so good. Again, it's family-run and the staff do what they can to accommodate the throng of diners so If you have patience for a weekend visit, you won't be dissatisfied. If you aren't so inclined to wait, try a weekday before work when you can get right in.

In short, if you're the breakfast sort, Fat Nat's has the food and atmosphere for you. From all the classics to new twists on old favorites, Fat Nat's has it all.

And be sure to try the hot chocolate...also the best around!

This place is not for messing around. And don't even think about hanging out to have a leisurly morning of coffee with friends. They want you in, eating, and out asap. Which work in your favor when your on their never-ending waiting list.

Fat Nat's is always busy, and for good reason. The staff is welcoming and attentive, and the food is good and they have some unique choices, with a south of the border flavor.

We are always on the look out for new restaurants. Our needs are simple for breakfast. Good, well prepared food served efficiently and with a smile. Right from the start our experience was iffy. Sunday morning many people waiting at the front door but with a few empty tablesin the restaurant...hmmm. Looking for the hostess. None. Small sign that says please sign in. Sign yourself in and one of the overworked waitresses will read your name off the list and seat you provided they have time. Mass confusion at the fron as people realized after waiting for ten minutes they should have signed in and didn't. The waitresses were also responsible for handling takeout orders also. I should have known better and left then. One of the restrooms was out of order. Call a plumber. I can't believe that any serious breakfast restaurant wouldn't have a hostess on a Sunday morning. No bus people to help the servers clear and reset their tables. By the time we arrived at 11am the servers were in slow motion. Service was one notch above self serve. The server took our order, brough us coffee and water and wasn't seen again till she dropped the check 15 minutes after we finished meal. No cashier to help the servers run credit cards, make change etc. No manager was ever seen, nor made a table visit. A total cluster. They ran out of biscuits, and the dishwasher came in with a bag of onions from the Festival grocery across the parking lot. My head was spinning from the commotion and chaos. There was one cat who seemed like a manager but a noon he walked out of the restaurant. Shift over. No concern with the 15 people waiting to be seated.
The menu is what attracted us but wasn't able to save this visit. It took too long to get, I have a feeling another snail (server) brought us our food out of pity instead of watching it sit under the heat lamp another second. The food was ok, but the menu had some promise they just can't execute.
I can't imagine this restaurant will make it if this is the level of service they deliver daily. Don't waste your time or money. I certainly know I won't.
