Staff was very friendly & gladly let us check in early! Lobby was nice & had clearly been recently updated! First impression was great! We receive a 2 room suite complementary! The room was so nice & extremely clean! The pool area & hot tub rocked! We would love to stay here again!

This hotel is very convenient to MSP Airport and the Mall of America. The light rail system stops just outside the door making it very easy to get to the mall, the airport and downtown.

Hotel is update, clean and friendly. Their shuttle service is also great to get to/from the mall.

I stayed for a meeting, but would choose this place again to come back with my family.

Room Tip: The suite I stayed in was great, but at the end of a long hallway.

My husband and I recently stayed here to get an early a.m. flight out of MSP, and the hotel served us very well for that purpose. Comments about it not being as top notch as expected have some truth, but the helpfulness of the staff and comfort of our bed outweighed the lobby (which wasn't bad; just nothing special), or the flight crews & kids sports teams that filled the elevators. Unlike another reviewer's experience, our courtesy van driver was very helpful and answered all sorts of questions. Our non-smoking room smelled of smoke upon check-in, but when reported, the staff was apologetic and immediately delivered an air cleaning machine that resolved the problem. (We didn't ask to be moved, but had reported the problem so that we would not be billed for smoking in the room.) Evidently, this hotel had been a top tier Holiday Inn until recently, so the Crowne Plaza affiliation is relatively new for them, and I suppose why it's not in all aspects quite at the anticipated Crowne Plaza level. But all in all, an excellent value for what we paid, and we would stay there again for its convenience to the airport.

Room Tip: Our room was the closest one to the elevator bank, which meant constant hallway traffic and conversa...

I was amazed at how clean this staff kept this hotel. I am picky and it is not brand new but it was very clean and they were very friendly. I wish I remembered the name of the girl at the front desk who checked me in. She was very real and very easy to deal with after 8 hours of driving.

Rather dingy decor in public areas. Room was clean and comfortable; however, it was not made up or bathroom cleaned when I left the room at about 9:30 a.m. & returned at 4:00 p.m. Convenient location for Mall of America with free shuttle. If going for other than business, find a more inviting atmosphere. Trip took place 6/7-9/12.

I reviewed this location for an event we hosted for my company. I came out 2 months prior to the event, and worked with Heidi Sohn, who was a joy to work with. I toured the facility, met several of the staff members who would be assisting me and because of Heidi and the staff, chose this location. For the most part, everything was fine, even with a few hiccups. The food was excellent and staff were accomodatiing. We were there for about a week and had about 150 people in attendance.

Even when there was an issue, it was resolved quickly. For example, there was another group which was there at the same time and was in a ballroom next to ours. During our break, we had food and beverages set outside the room for our attendees. When the other group began to partake of our group's items, the hotel staff put a table and plants (nicely done and not blatantly obvious) between the lobby space to segregate the groups.

The rooms are large and airy and had a fridge and microwave in most if not all of them. The beds are firm. The staff was very accomodating, especially Katherine, when I needed to make changes to room accomodations.

On the down size, we chose to use the restaurant downstairs for breakfast, and they basically has the same food choices all week. That was a little disappointing, however it was not a deal breaker.

We would use the location again.

To begin the concierge driver who picked us up from the airport was incredibly rude! He was not helpful whatsoever. Once we arrived at the hotel the fire alarm went off ... after traveling down 12 flights of stairs, standing outside, then returning into the lobby we were informed that the stereo system set off the alarm in the ballroom, no apologize whatsoever. The alarm went off continually through the night. Breakfast in the morning was very overpriced and not fantastic and made sure you don't say yes to a refill because you'll be paying an additional 4 dollars for your apple juice. Our friends we travelled with ended up on the 13 speciality floor .... avoid at all costs after getting in to the hotel from the airport at 11pm the beds have to be pulled down and then you make them yourselves. Horrible experience would recommend you stay at the country inn and suites in the same area we received much better service there during our first overnight layover in Minni.

Room Tip: Best tip for a good room is to stay somewhere else!
