“Great Place for a Conference”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

Recently stayed here for a business conference. The conference was in the hotel as well. Location is very convenient to the airport. Rooms are nice and clean. The hotel itself shows its age in the halls and elevators, but the rooms are nice and the restaurant has a good selection for breakfast and dinner. Also a good bar to watch sporting events or to just have a drink. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel provides a shuttle to and from the airport, as well as to and from the Mall of Americas.

This is a very convenient location. The restaurant in the hotel is very good. We've stayed here twice and the second stay we had a 1 bedroom suite. It was nice with a few oddities. There are no towel racks in the bathroom except over the tub. The king size bed has a nightstand on 1 side of the bed and nothing on the other side since there is just a triangle shaped corner of the room there. There is no light switch to turn on the light as you enter the bedroom. That is why the staff comes in each evening to turn on book lights. It looks like it might be time for sprucing up the bath tub.

They run a shuttle to the airport and to the Mall of America. That was very convenient! The breakfast and snacks on the Concierge Level were good. The hotel is quiet.

Got stuck here by weather while trying to get to the east coast during a big snow storm.
Was pleasantly surprised that they had room with that many flight cancellations.
The hotel is in good repair and very convenient to the airport and some big mall.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. I wasn't able to try the hotel bar, which looked pretty good, As it was jammed full of other stranded fliers. I did round out the evening with a little room service that was prompt, tasty and a pretty good value as marriott room service goes. All in all a decent stay I wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Two nights in one week. Same great service in same great hotel. This is a big property. Obvious the rooms have been updated and the concierge level is quite nice. Be sure to walk over to the Mall of America if you have never been! WOW.

Room Tip: Try to get one close to elevator as there are many elevators and rooms can be quite a walk.

In no way excellent. Standard Marriott, with one exception: the restaurant, Bistro 79, is better than average. Everything one would expect from a Marriott, and consistent with the brand standard as of 08-Apr-2013.

Facility was older and I was thankful to only stay 1.5 nights (had a 6:30am flight so I checked out at 4:30am). The bed was not comfortable, and luckily for me, since I travel frequently for work, I was prepared with Clorox wipes and disinfectant spray because the room wasn't very clean. Marriotts are typically better than this. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I expected a cruddy airport hotel that was small, stinky, outdated with airplane noise in the middle of nothing. What I found was a very large property with meeting and conference rooms, fabulous onsite restaurant (Bistro 79), coffee bar, little sundry store, out of this world great service and very nice rooms. and NO airplane noise that was directly across the street from MOA. I can;t say enough how great it was to spent a few nights there for meetings (OH and the catered meals were AMAZING). I usually hate Marriotts but I LOVED this one!! Only down side was there was no battled water in the room and the in room coffee was yucky. The shuttles ran until midnight too to the mall:) The hotel said they updated 2 years ago but it looked like it had been done last week. Great for couples and business travelers but it might a bit tight for parents with kids in one standard room.
