This was my second stay (4 nights) at this property. As during my last visit five years ago, I had a very good experience. Everything was clean and in good repair. The free breakfast was outstanding -- better-than-average coffee, crispy bacon, even an omlet station. Every evening brings the Manager's Reception, which amounts to a free happy hour...not merely a choice of red or white wine and snacks but mixed drinks as well. I had two dinners from Wolley's, the on-site restaurant, once a sit-down dinner and once via room service. Both were well above average although moderately expensive. The room service was worthy of note because the waiter specifically pointed out to me that an 18% service charge was already on the bill. In all my travels I don't recall a server ever pointing that out (I do know to check for service charges, but I'm sure many people unknowingly double tip). Service people were without exception courteous and helpful. The pool area appeared clean; the pool was highly chlorinated but seemed well maintained. This hotel may seem a little pricey, but when you factor in the free airport and MOA transportation, free parking, the free breakfast and Manager's Reception, free wifi (hhonors members only, but joining hhonors is easy and free) and the hotel's proximity (less than a one-block walk) to a light rail stop that whisks you to Minnehaha Falls or downtown Minneapolis and other popular locales as well, it is actually a very good value.

What we love about this hotel: shuttle from the airport and to the MOA with very nice drivers, a walk across the street to the lightrail, complimentary social at night and breakfast(with a wonderful, friendly chef), helpful and friendly front desk personnel. On our last trip, what we didn't like: our room didn't get cleaned and we had to call down for clean towels for the second day, There was mold on the shower curtain, a cracked(and horribly repaired) vanity counter, paint peeling from the black headboard paint, door closer to room was falling apart(metal piece fell a couple times), and one of our room cards didn't work even after we had them re-code it. We'll still come back because all of the hotel staff is so nice, but Room 529 needs some attention.

This hotel is pretty solid. About what you expect from an Embassy Suites. The suites are roomy, the service was pretty good and the beds are really comfortable. No noise despite the proximity to the airport. Breakfast is only ok. The hotel is basically across the street from the airport and the Mall of America and quick access to downtown via light rail. I only have a few complaints. First, the parking is not sufficient for the hotel. Second, the staff let a few things get away from them, trash cans overflowing and tables not cleared away. Finally, the elevator situation is horrendous, we stayed on the top floor and it took forever to get up or down. You definitely want to request a lower floor to avoid the elevator fiasco.

Room Tip: Lower floor to avoid elevator issues.

My Dad and I attended a wedding reception here. On our way into town we had called to see if we would be able to check in early. The lady that helped us was great! She put a room on hold for us so we could check in early to change before the wedding. Upon arrival, customer service was again nothing but incredible. We stayed in room 635 and it was a non smoking room. However, it reaked of smoke. I am pregnant and didn't enjoy that one bit. I don't like to put up a fuss.. especially since the hotel was super busy. The reception went very smooth but the bar could have used more help. But otherwise the service was great! The breakfast in the morning was super great! Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, French Toast, Pancakes, Made-to-order Omelets, Muffins, Toast, Fruit, Beverages... super awesome! The pool area looked very nice. The light rail was right next to the hotel, which makes it nice to get to places. They also have a happy hour from 5:30 to 7:30 (may be a half hour off) that has snacks and beverages. Another nice little perk!

The rooms are HUGE! Bathrooms are a little tiny. They do have refridgerators.

I remember coming here as a child and the hotel has become a bit run down since the last time I was there but it is still a great place to stay!

My family and I are huge Embassy Suites fans but the one at the Minneapolis airport leaves some when it comes to meeting the brand's usual standards. The building is one of the older ones and it shows its wear in places. The elevators were so slow lines built up almost everytime we approached one. The breakfast left much to be desired, the only fruit they had was oranges and grapfruit and instead of individual yoghurt containers they just poured it out from bulk containers into large bowls. They had the cooked to order omelates and they were fine but the cooks had zero personality and seemed to be bothered when I ordered. I only ordered a ham and cheese and how much trouble is that? The room was clean though so it wasn't like the place was a dump, it just looked like they were starting to cut corners. If I want cutting corners I can stay elsewhere for less....

Thank you for your feedback. We regret we were not able to provide you with the breakfast you expected. Our complimentary, cooked-to-order breakfast is comprised of a variety of hot and cold food items, but we are constantly looking for ways to improve the guest experience, and as a brand, are looking at additional items we could include. We appreciate your suggestions and will take them under consideration. I would also like to apologize for the lack of service you received while you were here; we will address that with our team. On your next visit to the area, I hope you consider staying with us again so we can demonstrate the excellent food service and hospitality we are known for.

My co-worker and i moved here from the homewood suites due to a large busload of students showing up the same day we did. So glad we did. The room was large, breakfast was great and room was always clean. Very convenient to all that the Mall area has to offer. Shuttle to the airport runs on the half-hour. Not sure about the mall shuttle though. Great water pressure and plenty of places to charge blackberries, laptops and kindle fires.
