“When visiting the MOA - this is the place”
Reviewed December 14, 2011

Very convenient at walking distance of the south entrance of the MOA. We arrived very early and were planning to leave our car and luggage at the hotel, but we could check in at 10:00 AM already and were all set to shop. That was great service.
The room was very clean and big, newly refurbished and with nice comfy beds. we did not use the pool area, but it looked ok. Breakfast was very basic, but included. When I would shop again at the MOA, this is were I would stay.

We were traveling by air and due to airline delays missed our connecting flight. The airline vouchered us for another hotel, but after waiting for over hour already exhausted from long day, I saw the number on a van, called and spoke with Matt (we enjoyed visiting with Matt during check in) who said "yes we have a room" so we jumped in the bus for the short ride over. Hotel is located next to the Mall of America, within walking distance. They offer shuttle to mall and/or airport. Shuttle driver safe, helpful with luggage and friendly. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Pool area is awesome with large pool, over large hot tubs and childrens area with sprinklers and such. Would make traveling with kids easier giving them something to do. Our room was clean, smelled great and the beds were very comfortable. Tastefully decorated. Quiet, well insulated, no traffic or other hotel guest noise. Continental breakfast was good, loved the hot oatmeal that was not from a instant bag! Attached restraunt was a tasty welcome, we enjoyed half off appetizers and drinks. Food was very good and averaged priced. Will most definately stay again. As matter of fact looking forward to it so I can actually have time to see the Mall of America, didn't get there unfortunately. Thank you for a great nights stay after a long day.

Room Tip: Seriously stay here, was awesome. If you have kids even adults will love the pool area.

This hotel was exactly what we wanted for a fun day and night with our 10 and 12 yr. old grand kids. The pool area was quite large, and separated into 2 distinct sections; one half was your usual hotel pool, good sized and very clean. The other half was more of a kiddie pool with water buckets, and other types of pool "toys", the kids enjoyed both pools. The room was super clean and very comfortable, with a big TV, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers, 2 Q beds and a recliner for Grandpa. Also had a small microwave and frig. Breakfast was 6-10am, no hot meat, but lots of other choices. 3 computers for guests, shuttle bus to the Mall of America, and airport. Would have rated it a 5, but ice machine was out of order on our floor, another floor, the soda machine. Informed the staff, they seemed thankful to be told, were friendly and helpful. 82 million dollar remodel last year or two really shows, very nice!

Room Tip: If you like poolside rooms, they have a nice balcony or "patio" area, but you will have pe...

We were schedule to a 7-day trip to Minneapolis-Saint Paul. Friends who live in the Twin Cities suggested that we stayed in a hotel near Mall of America, because we would be able to spend some time at the Mall and also would have access to the Cities from the MOA Transit Station. So we searched for hotels around the mall on Google Earth and read the latest reviews on Trip Advisor.
Best Western Plus had the best rates on the area, the reviews were good, so we decided to book it for the whole week. It turned out to be a very wise decision.
The hotel room was very comfortable and the bathroom clean. TV and AC worked just fine, refrigerator and microwave oven were available (although we didn't use), they provide free Wi-Fi access. The bedroom/bathroom was cleaned everyday and the only thing that we had to ask for was some toilet paper that was not replaced by the middle of our stay.
The breakfast had good options for me, my husband (lactose intolerant) had some difficulties, but eventually got something to eat every morning. I read some reviews about the breakfast area being too crowded, but we only noticed that on weekend days, during the week it was quiet and we could even listen to the TV.
The hotel has a pool area, we didn't use it, but kids seemed to enjoy it. Our room was the last one, by the parking lot side, which was nice because we didn't hear any noise from the pool. The laundry room was helpful, so was the shuttle service, to and from the airport and MOA. Especially when it was very cold, it was a relief to know that someone could drop us there and pick us up without having to wait too long. And it was very easy to take the light rail or a bus to go downtown Minneapolis and Saint Paul, so we did some very interesting tours!
And two or three nights, when we got back to the hotel, we went to the RedRossa restaurant for a happy hour. Good food, cold beer, nice service.
I'm planning another trip to the Twin Cities and Best Western Plus is definitely an option again!

Room Tip: If you don't intend to use the pool or prefer quiet rooms, ask for a room away from the pool.

I had already booked Country Inn & Suites, but when I read the reviews for The BW+ on this site, I took another look at the stats and decided to switch our reservations.

We booked two rooms and had my parents in a poolside/ground floor king room, so they'd have a patio and good access to the Jacuzzi.

Reception: The staff was welcoming & professional. They let me & hubby check-in super early as our room was already available. The folks hung out with us 'til their room was prepared.

Rooms: They were well appointed and really much nicer than we expected for the $ we paid.
Everything was spotless and it was nice having the fridge & the micro. The bedding was very comfy.

Room Service: We ordered room delivery for lunch through the on-site restaurant "RedRossa." The delivery was prompt and the food was of good quality. The lunch portions aren't your normal oversized American servings, so don't plan on sharing an entree if you have a big appetite.

Pool area/Room location: This was really great being able to conduct our "wine-tastings" in the evenings on the patio with my parents. Be aware when booking the poolside rooms that there might not be much privacy-(weekend stay), it didn't bother us- it was fun watching the parties unfolding. Our room was on the second floor on the parking lot side which is great if you need undisturbed rest. The poolside rooms are convenient if you have kids and want to keep an eye on them.

Fitness Room: This was fine for me- I put in my treadmill time both mornings of our stay. I liked that they had video entertainment for each machine- nice touch.

Breakfast Room: The complimentary breakfast selection was totally fine. The service staff were friendly and constantly re-stocking everything. I agree with a previous poster that suggested folks need to eat & exit the room during peak times...I couldn't believe these 6 seniors that we saw taking up two big tables for 8 - just leisurely chatting and having their umpteenth cup of coffee....there was a lady with an infant that needed a seat...there was another family looking all over for any kind of spot....The seniors seemed oblivious that they were taking up valuable dining space. Not sure why they'd want to sit in the noisy, crowded breakfast room anyway when there was plenty of space in the gorgeous lobby area....I'm not shy and decided to go "European Style" and asked one of the seniors if they'd mind if we shared their table? They seemed really surprised, but said "sure, go ahead". The seniors continued to chatter away as hubby & I quickly finished our breakfast so that we could offer our place at the table to the family that was roaming around. We had breakfast at IHOP the next morning to avoid the crowds @ the hotel breakfast room.

WiFi: the signal was strong & we had no issues. We appreciated that it was complimentary.

LOCATION: Located right across from MOA! I would have just walked, but it was pretty windy & cold, so my family was more keen on the shuttle. The service was fabulous and we seemed to get lucky and never waited more than a few minutes for pick-ups at the MOA. A lady that was staying at the Hilton said that she'd been waiting 45min. and still no Hilton shuttle driver...She could barely finish her story when our shuttle driver arrived.

GOOD TO KNOW:
1. The pool & Jacuzzi close @ 10pm sharp- even on the weekends...keep this in mind when choosing this hotel.
2. Don't book a poolside room on a weekend if you desire privacy & solitude.
3. Avoid peak times for the breakfast room or plan on doing take away.
4. If you see a good rate on the Internet for this property & don't need flexibility, book it right away; our room was $35. less per night than my parents, who booked only two days later...

I spent 1 night at this hotel while on business in the area. Arrived for a late check in after a delayed flight. I didn't get to explore the property much, but I can comment on the rooms. The rooms were large, and up to date. I think it is a new hotel. Bathroom is new. I had a very comfortable king sized bed for a restful sleep. In the morning grabbed a bite to eat at the continental breakfast, which was ok, no complaints.

So for a nice stay while traveling, where the hotel is not the destination, this is nice.

The hotel is nearly brand new. It is literally across the street from the Mall of America in Bloomington. The rooms have large 42" flat screens are clean and nicely furnished. Our room was on the opposite side of the swimming pool and was quiet. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were reasonably priced and roomy. Free breakfast was good, though it got crowded on weekend as the hotel was fully booked, so get there early on weekends.

The hotel is close by car to the Minneapolis International Airport. Good service and good wifi connection.

Room Tip: Away from the pool if you need quiet
