I have wanted to try Chevy's since I saw one in California in 2003, and finally got a chance to, boy was I disappointed. It is way overpriced for what you get. A local Mexican establishment would be much better. The quality of food wasn't too bad, but the prices are outrageous for what you get, and the service was as slow as molasses. Never again.

We had lunch here on our way out of town after a stay near Mall of America. We both had fajitas which were very good and had generous portions. Waiter was great, as was hostess. We used to go to Chevy's quite a bit where we used to live, but we moved and don't have one in our current city. Nice to eat there again. Yummy salsa and chips. And the fresh, warm tortillas for the fajitas are always so good. We would definitely eat here again.

Fresh roasted tomatoes in the salsa make the flavour pop! Table side guacamole perpetration is a nice treat, too. That's the end of the positive feedback. The food was average (grilled fish tacos are NOT fresh, despite the fact that the menu says "fresh" - don't waste your money). If you are hungry, it will meet the requirement of filling the void, but that's where the satisfaction ends. Service was really slow, too. Our bill was over $70 for three entrees, guacamole, and a side of sour cream ($2!).

We stayed in the hotel right next door to this restaurant so it was an obvious choice for our evening meal. It was a Saturday evening and quite busy, but our party of six was seated within five minutes and promptly waited on. Our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly, and took good care of us. As this is a chain restaurant I wasn't expecting greatness, but I was pleasantly surprised with the food and the service. This dining experience exceeded my expectations. I recommend Chevy's Fresh Mex, in Bloomington, Minnesota. The only down side for me was it was very noisy.

Roasted salsa and light thin chips was a nice start. I had flautas and tamales. Flautas were excellent. Chicken with a crispy shell, a drizzle of a Bajs style sauce, dipped in a jalapeño jam. Delicious. The corn meal mentioned in other reviews is very good. Tamales with the tomatillo was also good. Service was great for a Saturday lunch.
