“Visit on a weekday”

We bought discounted tickets online. You receive a confirmation to your smartphone or it can be printed out. We were there on a Friday afternoon. We stayed about two hours - take your time - the aquarium isn't that big but the collection and presentation are excellent. We left and returned about an hour later. We were glad that we took photos of jellyfish earlier (before they were fed); they photograph more beautifully without bits of food in their tentacles. The tunnel is magical! You will love it.

“Mall of America Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

The aquarium was awesome. You could go as many times as you wanted. It had so much to see. Every thing was so clean. The aquariums were beautiful. You could touch some of the sea creatures. There were very friendly people to explain about what you were touching. It was so cool to go back at night, the fish were lined up & going to sleep. The octopus was dancing for us.

“Loved the aquarium. Hated all the shouting children”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2013

I had been begging my husband to take me to aquarium because I LOVE ocean stuff. We did find that you can get tickets for cheaper if you order online and pick up your tickets there.

Our mistake was going on a Saturday. If you're part of a childless couple you'll end up being extremely annoyed. Having our path blocked by a parent with their stroller or trying to view an exhibit with a bunch of children in the way was a bit frustrating. Oh, and I wanted to strangle the kid who kept shouting "TURTLE!" over and over when the sea turtle came out by the divers in the tank and later on down the tunnel when there were a dozen or so smaller turtles.

So don't go on a Saturday and instead go on a weekday.

Despite the awful children, I did enjoy the exhibits themselves. I enjoyed the jellyfish displays, which are set in the dark and the tanks are lit up with different colored lights to give the jellyfish a cool look. I also enjoyed the 300 tunnel. A very menacing looking shark with rows of razor sharp teeth swam up to the glass and scared the Hell out me and some small children. That made my day.

“Amazing”

As an animal fanatic the 300 ft tunnel is worth the price of admission on it's own. The whole aquarium is really cool but the tunnels and the jellyfish aquarium room are the best parts.

Purchasing your tickets online is a much better deal than getting them at the desk.

We had a VERY friendly desk attendant when we picked up our tickets.
