It was great to have all the stores and attractions in one close space. Some of the retail stores employees are a little pushy, others are helpful.

This was my second trip to MOA. This time I was solo, and although I'm not much of a shopper, I do enjoy going to MOA to walk around, people-watch, and to eat. There is an amazing selection of stores and of restaurants. I live in an area where there is not a whole lot to offer without traveling 4 hours and so it was fun to see the variety. I walked through the amusement park and enjoyed seeing the kids laugh and scream on the rides...oh to be young again! I had brought along an Apple computer product that I'd been experiencing problems with because I knew there was an Apple store in the mall. My visit there was probably one of the most positive retail and repair experiences in my life...they do customer service right! I left very happy with their resolve for my problem.

Overall, a great place to shop, and a fantastic place to people watch!

The center of the mall has kiddie rides and roller coasters. It is about a 50/50 mix. There are probably about 4 rides that people over the age of 50 would want to ride with their kids. There are several nearby snack stands with treats. On the 3rd level of the mall there are at least 30 food venues both restaurant and fast food types. On the first level of the mall there are several stores that are child related.

It is fun to spend several hours getting lost in this mall - and lost you will get at some point. Wear comfortable shoes and write down where you parked no matter how good you think your memory is. There is a theater complex on the 4th floor which is accessed near the main food court by escalator.

There are several shops which are not common to regular malls. I think it is a good strategy to only go to those and save the stores that are common to your "at home" mall for when you are there because you will not make it through all the stores in shopping mode in one day. If you are visiting this mall with small children bring a stroller and consider a wheel chair for those who have difficulty walking. Wheel chairs, single and double strollers are available for a small rental fee at guest services which I believe are at the main entrances of each wing. There are lockers available to rent so you don't have to tote your bags around from store to store as well.

Honestly, I live in the Twin Cities but usually only go to the MOA for special shopping. It's just big enough to be a little intimidating but the drive is worth the great selection. My favorite stores - Nordstrom's and Nordstrom's Rack. And you really should look up the location of other stores on the mall map on the Internet so you park in the right place. For out-of-state shoppers, you really should remember that Minnesota still doesn't have a sales tax on clothes. Best deals ever.
