This beautiful resort is only three hours north of Minneapolis on the historic Iron Range.
We stayed one night in a very nice two bedroom villa unit. The purpose of our trip was to golf the two 18-hole courses and we were not disappointed. The first day we played an afternoon round in 4:05 on the Legend course. On-line photos made the course look somewhat tight, but that wasn't the case at all. Lots of elevation changes, but pristine fairways and greens that would hold high approach shots. All four of us loved this course and will return in future years. We had a fox following us for parts of two holes. How cool was that? We had dinner that night at the new Burndt Onion restaurant in the Lodge. Both food and service were excellent. After a good night's sleep in the nicely appointed villa, we played a morning round (4:20) at the Quarry course, about a mile from the villas.
This course was more challenging with many long carries over rugged terrain. It also was beautiful, and on this course the wildlife was more of the Bambi variety. We played to our handicaps on both courses. As we drove back to the Twin Cities we started making plans to return again next year. This is a gorgeous part of the state and probably would be a great place to visit once the fall colors set in.

Room Tip: We stayed in a second-level two bedroom villa which was very nice. The Lodge looks new.

We came in the "off season" around Memorial Day. so things were not crowded. The condo was like new and had a lovely lake view. We were surprised to find a spa tub in both bathrooms (a first in all our years of trading). There was both indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs as well. There are two highly rated golf courses on site, as well as ski slopes. The small towns in the area provide various shopping and dining options, and the dining at the lodge proved to be very good.

Room Tip: Condos were all located with lake views.

Ok spot but they should have at least one hill open family ski over holiday. Pool area needs some remodeling as there is a lot of chipped paint and the bathrooms are falling apart. Staff is nice. Rooms are clean. The burnt onion restaurant had awesome food. The french onion soup was one of the best I have had. This is a good family spot.

We stayed in a two bedroom Villa.
The kitchen was well provided with all the dishes and pots, etc., that we required.
Everything was cleaned.
Towels and bedding were provided to the max.
My only complaint was the lack of comfort on the futon.
I spent 3 nights trying to find a comfortable position.
I recommend that the owners try to obtain new cushions for their futons.
The guys who slept in the beds rated them highly.

Skiing was good and the staff were always friendly and helpful.
Burnt Onion restaurant was excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for a Villa that faces the lake rather than the road.

Lake view was wonderful. The TV noise next door not so much. The creaking floor above is not so nice either. Convenience to golf and resort very good. I would not recommend anything but the units that are on top or the larger 3 bedroom plus units.
