We have stayed at this property several times since it was brand new. The location is great, the rooms always clean and in good working order, and they have a large kid-friendly waterpark that the family enjoys. The only complaints I have is that you have to go to the front desk to get your waterpark wristband and it's right near the entrance... MN winters are COLD and standing there in your swimsuit while the doors open and shut can be miserable!!!
The children especially enjoy the kids suites (and we also enjoy having a bit more privacy too). The manager, Thomas, has been very helpful.

We just returned from a 2-night stay (Thurs.-Sat. Easter weekend) with our family and my brother's family: kids ages 9,7,4,4,3, infant. We chose this property because of the waterpark and my brother had earned a free night with their frequent guest program. We wish we would have reserved a kids suite or a suite with a couch just for extra room.

THE GOOD: Overall, we had a great time. The waterpark is wonderful. Kids of all ages were entertained, and the adults too. The room was nicely decorated continuing the bear theme. The room was clean. The pizza available from the snack bar in the waterpark is super good. The breakfast buffet was above average. It offered some protien options like hard boiled eggs and yogurt, and limited fresh fruit, in
addition to the plethera of easy carbohydrates like cereal, donuts, cinamon rolls, waffles, etc. While the hotel was at capacity, we never felt crowded to the point where it ruined our getaway. We saw plenty of adults observing or participating with their children in the waterpark.

THE BAD: We checked in at 7pm & were told that our room was not cleaned yet. We were told that the housekeeper has a medical emergency & was in hospital. My brother's family arrived at 4pm & were still waiting for theirs! We were given wristbands to use the waterpark & a free pizza voucher. This was inconvenient because we had not packed a pool bag & had to rifle through all our bags for swimsuits. Our room was ready within 1/2 hour (at the same time as my brother's room). Prior to our getting our keys, I tried to charge to my room a drink at the bar & grill/snack bar inside the waterpark.
No flexibility. Even though I was checked in, I didn't know my room no. so I couldn't charge!!! Snack attendant was not willing to write down my name, call front desk, etc. When we entered our room, we saw a message from the manager who apologized via voicemail & said that she would be available the next morning should we want to speak to her. Strangely ,my brother didn't get a voicemail. The next morning, we were told to talk to a different manager. We finally spoke to someone in charge the next afternoon where the explanation was given that the hotel was under new management and they had never done a 100% capacity with turnover to anothernight of 100% capacity. My brother was offered 1 night free stay upon another visit to this property & was refunded points he had used for this free stay. I was given 2nd night stay (Friday) to the weekday rate & 15% on a future stay at this site. We weren't as inconvenienced as my brother's family so this seemed fair. The free night voucher was not included when my brother checked out, so he still has a phone call to settle this. Parts of the waterpark also seemed cold, but our kids still enjoyed. Overall, the staff appears to be new or not completely trained yet. Depending on the person we spoke to, we would get different information/policies. The new management needs to get a handle on this & train everyone to be customer service minded.

I would stay at this hotel again.

We stayed at this water park with two small children. The water was freezing and we were told by the head lifeguard that the heater went out. She went onto say that the owner will not spend the money to get a new one. Our two small children spent more time in the hot tub than in the water park.

The walls were paper thin and no rules were enforced. Alcohol was VERY available and seemed to be everywhere.

This is definetly NOT a family destination unless you want to deal with adults getting wasted and not paying any attention to their kids, particulary in the middle of the night.

I am sorry your experience at our Hotel and Waterpark was not as enjoyable as it should have been. It is under new management and the water issue that you speak of is being corrected, along with other issues, by the new owners. I would like to invite you back to our site to experience the changes we have made.

My wife, I and are two girls needed a quick get away for a few nights and this hotel was just what the doctor ordered.

I have to preface this report by saying that we went on a thursday and friday night stay which may not be as busy as a weekend. We found minimal crowds at the hotel and waterpark. The staff was super. Our girls forgot their tooth brushes and the staff promptly brought us two of them.

The waterpark is not huge but is very nice size. Bigger than the waterpark in Owattona, MN. It has two large slides (one body and one tube). You can use single or double tubes. The slides are long and go partially outside the building and come back in.
Water is nice and warm throughout the park, a little chillier where the fountains, sprayers and geysers are. There are two very large hot tubs, one for kids and one for adults only, which is nice. They have a small pool, maybe 25X20 that is for basketball and they have a few floating animals that kids can try to cross the pool on. There is a lazy river which has some fun stuff on it like, fountains, pouring water, buckets of water etc. Not a huge river but fun nonetheless. Toddlers have their own small slide and a nice area to hang out in as well.

When we were there, there were only about 20 people max in the park so we went on the slides with rarely a wait of one or two. They have 3 lifeguards, despite the small crowd.

The Snack bar is nicely equipped, there is alcohol available, and we did have a wine but chose to go back to the room for drinks when the time came. Drinks and food was somewhat reasonable. The Pizza was fantastic. Nacho's are small for the price and pop is also very reasonable.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel especially off peak. I've heard it can be busy on Saturday's so that is why we stayed on Thurs and Friday. Never had crowds at all.

We just arrived back from "water park" torture! We are actually home a day early! Where should I start, other than "DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME".

The facilities were booked full! There were people who were waiting at line during check in who didn't get rooms. Lucky us, we made reservations. That still didn't speed up the 1 hr and 20 min wait for check in.

The waterpark was understaffed 2/3 of the time we were there, they didn't have all the slides or areas open because there weren't enough life guards.

If you have ever dreamed of being surrounded by over weight, tatooed people...this is your dream spot! How about being surrounded by other peoples' unsupervised children. Numerous parents were bringing their children down or sending them down and saying "see you in a couple of hours." Those of us that were there with our kids, spent our time trying to just survive the chaos. Miserable! Basically there needs to be some sort of supervision or a rule that lets parents know that children under 12 shouldn't be left unattended!

There are also pets allowed...but no pet walking area so as you leave the back of the hotel to venture to your car, be sure to watch for the numerous piles of -- that are scattered across the lawn. Better safe than sorry, stay on the sidewalks and don't inhale!

Working out was a treat. The workout facility consists of a stationary bike and two treadmills. The best part is the smoking area right outside the vent for the room. Anyone goes out to smoke, you are bathed in second hand smoke inside while trying to work out.

Breakfast? If it is busy, be prepared to wait in line about 20 min for donuts. If there is no where to sit, ask for a tray and take it back to your room. Don't ask the white haired lady though....! And get there early, when they run out, refills are few and far between and take forever!!!

We had addressed our concerns with the hotel staff and were told that they could check into them. They really had no cares or concerns and weren't at all friendly. Needless to say, we checked out a day early! Not worth your time or money...spend a little more and head across the street!
