We both had a wonderful time. A lovely hotel complex with very caring staff. This place felt great. The food was fantastic. We took a few trips into muscat. Not the most inspiring of cities but the people have this calm friendliness which you don't normally see in the middle east. Back to the hotel- wow.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Al Waha after a tour of the Middle East and I can honestly say it was a fantastic place to end our holiday. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable and they provide everything that you would need for your stay apart from sun lotion! The pools in both the Al Waha and Al Bandar are clean and of a decent size plus the jacuzzi was warm and relaxing. The lazy river is great - we literally spent hours just slowly making our way from one end to the other.

There are plenty of bars but alcohol is pricey so take advantage of the happy hours! We ate at the Asia restaurant, the tapas and the buffet restaurant and in all the food was excellent. You can have breakfast in either of the Al Waha or Al Bandar buffet restaurants but both were excellent with such a varied choice. The staff are very attentive and will do everything to make your visit memorable.

The grounds and sights of the hotel are brilliant and we were lucky enough to see baby turtles being released into the sea which was an amazing sight. The beach is private and all sun loungers at the beach and pool were very comfortable. The staff are excellent and very friendly plus the extras of cool boxes with water and fresh fruit during the day at the pool is a bonus!

The resort is a way out from the centre of Muscat but the hotel provide a daily coach to the souks or mall for a few hours which was plenty of time for us. All in all I would definitely recommend!

my 1st experience of a 3 night stay at the Waha Barr Al-Jissah Shangri-La Resort was without a doubt - AWESOME

as i was with my wife on our honeymoon, i'm without words to express the sunrise each morning, as it was a quiet all around and other guest & families to mix around with.

waking up to a delicius breakfast buffae, through the water adventure, with the lazy river at the sea face, pass the enchanting local shopping & the beautiful mountains by the coast, to the road trips and back to the lounge to a restful night... can only say - i will visit again soon.

The drive to the resort was amazing, a real first time wow factor. Not that far away from Old Muscat town, Al Alam Palace and Souq Matrah. The fantastic breakfast, lot of activities to do in the resort to keep whole family busy, free beach kayak and the lazy river is a big bonus. Would love to go back again. Stay for atleast 4 nights. Its worth it.

Very pleasant hotel complex, well managed. Next time we will likely go the sister hotel Al Bandar as Al Waha is very much oriented towards families with very young kids. Overall we have very good memories of our stay (in spite of some heavy rain).
The turtles and tropical fishes just by the beach are quite amazing.
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Dear DeFede_23, Thank you for reviewing the resort on TripAdvisor in reference to your stay with us this April. With regards to the turtles nesting on our beach the main season for laying eggs is from Mid January – May and each nest takes about 90 days to hatch. We do have turtles outside of these dates and hatching normally finishes around mid August. It’s a great experience to see the turtles and the resort does have a dedicated turtle ranger who can answer guest questions and put the guest on the turtle watch list. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay. Warm regards, Mark Kirk
