This is a great place for breakfast if you are looking forward to a reasonably priced, hearty meal. Portions are large and tasty and if you are in an extremely bold and daring mood you can try the "Bomber Breakfast," but if you do be prepared to be confronted with the largest breakfast you have probably ever seen.

We wanted to try somewhere new for breakfast. A bit of surfing the web brought me to the website of the Bomber restaurant in Ypsilanti. The place was a bee hive of activity, and is very popular with the locals. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, but the decor of the place made for very interesting viewing and reading. There are dozens of WW2 airplane models dangling from the ceiling. Every wall is loaded with uniforms, photos and other memorabilia related to the war. The place is unique, with about 75 years of great food and service to back it up. On to the food:

The portions are big, and almost everything on the menu is under $10. The coffee is fresh and hot. The sausage gravy is amazing, and peppery. My kids loved their pancakes, french toast, and cap'n crunch french toast. My wife loved her omelet with a variety of vegetables and feta cheese. I had a delicious country fried steak that was very tender and tasty.

The place is right on Michigan Avenue so it is easy to get to, especially from I-94.

Waited more than an hour for a table, food was OK, but I don't see what all the hype is about.Lot better places locally, that are cheaper without the wait.
