With two days to spend in the Ann Arbor area, we first tried and were disappointed with Saigon Garden on University Avenue (see our comments in a separate review). Since there are not many so-called Vietnamese restaurants on or close by the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor campus, we headed to Ypsilanti twenty-minute away. Not better luck because Dalat is also unauthentic and forgettable. We ordered Vietnamese pork ravioli (Banh Cuon), which is steamed rice rolls with sliced pork loaf, Stir-fried Egg-Noodles (Mi Xao Mem), and Banh Xeo. All taste unauthentic, with not much flavor. For the portion served, it is also kind of expensive. The waiters are smiley but their service left a lot to be desired! As an example, after bringing the dishes out, they vanished until we had to go to the kitchen to look for one! It's annoying when we had to do it multiple times, actually all the times! Besides, the restaurant also looks (from the inside) more in the lower end in spite of their good location. Unfortunately, even considering the shortage of Vietnamese restaurants in the area, we would not revisit this one.
