Stayed here on a multi-stop vacation while traveling through Michigan. Wanted to get a little casino action in on the trip and through an Internet search, turned up this hotel. Rooms were nice a little too modern decor for my taste but functional. No inroom safe which is silly for a casino not to provide their guests. Buffet on Fri and Sat nights was outrageous! We ended up eating at the counter service deli (we even thought about driving to McDonald's in Traverse City too). Rooms are also a bit overpriced - you can get 10% off by signing up for their players club card but it doesn't really make the rooms much of a value. Couple that with the fact you'll be most likely losing money to the House during your stay and you'll resent the nightly rate they gouge you on. Will probably search for another casino and not stay at this one again.

I would reccomed this hotel to anyone traveling. The beds were very very comfortable. Hotel was very modern and the valet service was great.

My husband and I stayed at the Turtle Creek last month for two nights at a rate of $144 and in the my opinion we paid more than I think it was worth. It was a good hotel and not on the main strip with all the tourists (yet a quick 10 minute drive away). At the same time - trying to find a good rate at a hotel in Traverse City during the summer is not the easiest!

The rooms are very modern and the hotel is very clean - of which is very important to us. Both the room and the bathroom were larger than average, which was very positive. At first, I thought just having a shower stall would be great, but it had one of those rain shower heads, and the water pressure was non-existent and there were several gaps in the water pouring down. It was not a very relaxing shower at all.

My other main complaint were the paper thin walls. We could hear absolutely everything that occurred in the room next door and we heard them talking to the wee hours of the morning. It's hard to complain about the noise, however, because they were just talking. The walls were just so thin that it sounded extremely loud to us and kept us up.

One other thing to note is that the casino is smoking and while the hotel rooms weren't, you can still smell the hint of smoke through the hallways.

Some of the other posts have complained about the parking situation and while we didn't have a problem finding a spot, I can see how others might. The front desk did mention that they are seeking ways to address this issue.

We ate at the breakfast buffet one morning and typical of a breakfast buffet, it wasn't that good. Fortunately, they did have a person making fresh omelettes, so I would stick with that. Also - if you're a member of the 'Players Club' you get 10% off your meals. If you plan to eat at the restaurants, it might be worth it to join.

Another odd thing about the hotel - the brochures within the room were a bit deceiving. They mentioned a business center so when we went to the front desk to question it, they said they didn't have a business center. When I did a double check in the room brochures, I noticed it was ads for the 'Grand Traverse Resort.' Apparently, they're both connected. Not sure how or if we could use some of the amenities there or not. It was something that really wasn't explained during check-in. At the same time - for a newer hotel not to have a business center? It seemed yet another cut corner.

Overall - a decent hotel that was away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag, but it seems that during development, the hotel might have cut a few too many corners in construction and design (i.e. no water pressure and paper thin walls). If you could overlook those two things, I would recommend the hotel.

Our recent stay included 3 adults and one teenager. The 2-bed room felt spacious and very clean. Same for the bathroom. There is no bathtub only a walk in shower but it was beautiful, lots of tile work. The place still had a brand new smell to it. Not a bad thing. The floor we were on was very quiet. The toiletries offered were samples of larger ones sold in their gift shop and they were great with a wonderful orange scent. There were plenty of cable stations offered on the flat screened tv.
The hotel is connected to the casino through a short brightly lit hallway. There is wired internet service in the rooms and wi-fi is available in the lobby and the cafe which overlooks the casino gaming floor. All are free. This is perfect for people staying at the hotel who prefer not to gamble but don't want to be stuck in their rooms.
The dinner buffet was standard but it was convenient and you do get a 10% discount for using their player's club card. I would like to add that the prime rib was the best that any of us has ever had at any restaurant or buffet. We also ate the buffet at breakfast for the same convenience.
My niece, 13 years old, was with us on this trip and we had no concerns leaving her in the room while we gambled. She had the internet available with her laptop, her cell phone, and plenty of things to watch on tv. We were only a phone call and a 2 minute walk away. And she was welcomed to eat at the buffet.
We also had a great price of $59 for a Thursday night just for being a member of their player's club. We would stay here again for sure.

Nice newer hotel with good size rooms and walk-in showers. Unfortunately the service of the hotel staff didn't match it. The people seemed to be very indifferent. The answer of where to park because the hotel lot was not large enough was to park on the other side of the complex at the casino entrance. The hotel also has no computer for guests to use to print boarding passes for flights. Overall nobody ever greets you when passing or makes you feel comfortable. If you go just don't expect much.
