From the moment we walked in the door, we felt like we were welcome. The owners treated us like royalty! The rooms are very nice. The B&B is in a great location with plenty to do on the grounds. We loved it and will surely return!!!

My wife and I celebrated a belated honeymoon for one week in the northern Michigan area. We stayed in a Category III Suite for three nights at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island during this trip, to give you a perspective on the quality of inns that we wanted to experience. In all aspects we felt The Country Hermitage B&B equaled if not surpassed our experience at The Grand Hotel when it came to being pampered and personal attention. Pat was our host and took exceptional care of us. There are many little details that were paid attention to by Pat and Lynn. This is a truly wonderful establishment in the heart of cherry orchards and numerous quality vineyards. It gets you away from the sometimes hectic downtown Traverse City, being approx. 8 minutes from the city limits. You can see the east bay from the house. Do not pass up on the chance to stay here!!! The cherry and walnut french toast with real maple syrup will get you going in the morning, and a bottle of local wine set out in the evening to enjoy with treats is most welcome. But it is the friendly, personal treatment by the hosts that really "put the cherry on top" for us. Thanks, Pat!

Totally renovated farm house situated on hundreds of acres of cherry trees. Rooms are spotless and receive daily maid service. Situated equidistant from Traverse City and Elk Rapids off the main drag (US 31). Downstairs contains four rooms for reading, game playing, watching TV, etc. Patrick (your host) is a wealth of knowledge on all that is the Grand Traverse area (restaurants, sites and sounds, legends, shops, and where to find the best cherry pies). The regular cook was on leave, so I need to reserve judgement on the breakfast offerings.

Patrick & Lynn have thought of everything! Every common area is well thought out, with perks everywhere. It's only a few minutes from Traverse City, but in the middle of an orchard! You get gorgeous country views, but northern "city life" is just a few minutes away! The breakfast was phenomenal, sweets and wine every afternoon was perfect, and the conversation with the innkeepers and guests was so pleasant! Even though we only live an hour away, it seemed like another world. We would stay again, and hope to soon!

While my husband had never been to a B&B, I have been to a handful and this was by far the best! He decided that he would "give it a try" for our 10-year anniversary and he was pleasantly surprised (he thought he would be "uncomfortable in someone else's home"). We plan to make B&B's our lodging of choice going forward, now that he knows how wonderful the experience can be.

From the moment we arrived, the innkeepers, Lynn and Patrick, were incredible. Lynn is a master in the kitchen - her afternoon cookies were wonderful and her breakfasts were out of this world (especially her spicy bacon - we all agreed that it should be a daily staple it's so delicious!). Patrick took us on a tour of the beautifully restored 125+ year old home and we were amazed by how warm, cozy, and spacious it is. We were surprised by how much there was to do on site! Indoor activities included board games, books, a large HDTV, and lots of places to just sit and relax, while outside there were numerous lawn games to choose from (bocce ball, horsehoes, etc), as well as darts, a fish pond (where you could feed the fish or even use the fishing poles to catch and release), bicycles, a hammock, and beautiful cherry orchards to stroll through. The landscaping is incredible and the deck is HUGE! We got lots of great pictures of the grounds.

Our room (the Amon) was small but very cozy and suited us well. The bed was comfortable and we loved the complimentary Aveda products. No stone was left unturned in assuring that our stay was exactly what we were hoping for. When it came time to plan our days, Patrick was a wealth of information - he knew everything there was to know about the area and had many great suggestions for us. We loved that they had menus on site for the majority of the restaurants in the area.

We even took advantage of their being members of the Grand Traverse Resort one morning before breakfast and went over to the health club to get a workout in - all at no charge. There is also a very nice pool/spa there we could have used and many discounts as well. That was an added bonus we weren't expecting!

Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend the Country Hermitage!

My wife and I had a short stay just outside of Traverse City for a night away at the country Hermitage. Everything was terrific. The owners where helpful, the breakfast fantastic ( try their spicy bacon!), the rooms modern, clean and very comfortable. Even in the rain this place shined on our vacation and great place for a couple to visit. If we had been there longer, I would have enjoyed more of the other offering they had for couples including spa time etc at a nearby club. We highly recommend it.

This was the second time my husband and I have stayed a the Country Hermitage B&B, and we had another wonderful experience! This is beautiful property situated on a cherry orchard with great views of Lake Michigan. The rooms are spacious, have beautiful views overlooking the property and lake, and they're very comfortable. The Innkeepers, Patrick and Lynn, went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We appreciated their hospitality, good humor, and excellent restaurant and toursim recommendations in the area. Lynn's breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and my husband and I looked forward to her late afternoon treats. This is quickly becoming our favorite place to stay when visting the Traverse City area!

We'll definitely be back!
