Country Hermitage Bed and Breakfast Traverse City
Ranked #1 of 3 Williamsburg B&B and Inns

My wife and I had a short stay just outside of Traverse City for a night away at the country Hermitage. Everything was terrific. The owners where helpful, the breakfast fantastic ( try their spicy bacon!), the rooms modern, clean and very comfortable. Even in the rain this place shined on our vacation and great place for a couple to visit. If we had been there longer, I would have enjoyed more of the other offering they had for couples including spa time etc at a nearby club. We highly recommend it.

This was the second time my husband and I have stayed a the Country Hermitage B&B, and we had another wonderful experience! This is beautiful property situated on a cherry orchard with great views of Lake Michigan. The rooms are spacious, have beautiful views overlooking the property and lake, and they're very comfortable. The Innkeepers, Patrick and Lynn, went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We appreciated their hospitality, good humor, and excellent restaurant and toursim recommendations in the area. Lynn's breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and my husband and I looked forward to her late afternoon treats. This is quickly becoming our favorite place to stay when visting the Traverse City area!

We'll definitely be back!

We searched a while for a B&B that was classy and affordable with a beautiful setting. This was an excellent choice. We stayed five nights and explored the area (also worked on writing). The public rooms are historical and spacious, cozy and comfortable.

Situated in the midst of a cherry orchard with peek-a-boo views of Lake Michigan, this is well located for scenery, grounds, and easy travel to Traverse City and Elk Rapids.

Lynn and Patrick are very welcoming and do everything in their power to make your stay comfortable. Patrick is gifted in sharing places to visit and points of interest. Lynn makes delicious and varied breakfasts. The Country Hermitage is beautiful and clean. The entire house is tastefully decorated, with all the modern amenities that a traveler would expect.

When we return to Traverse City, we plan to make the Country Hermitage our place to stay again.

This is the 2nd time my boyfriend and I have stayed at the Country Hermitage and to be honest, I was worried that our 2nd stay would not live up to the memories of the first. If anything, it exceeded my expectations! Patrick and Lynn, the innkeepers immediately put us at ease roaming barefoot around the property chatting about local attractions, wildlife and the best places to eat in the area.
The house itself is amazing, choc full of gorgeous furniture, antiques, art and old photographs. The rooms are airy yet cosy, have country charm but aren't 'twee' and the whole place is spotlessly clean. The breakfasts are consistantly delicious as are the homemade cookies, treats, wine and coffee that are always on offer. The surrounding orchards and grounds are so peaceful it almost makes me want to leave London altogether and take up cherry farming for a living!

Anyway, I urge anyone (especially those from the U.K - forget any past experiences of damp, cramped old seaside B&B's run by gossipy old women offering porridge and the odd stale biscuit) to visit the country hermitage, it's the perfect restorative.

I booked this B & B after reading multiple rave reviews on tripadvisor. Everyone was abolutely right! The place was gorgeous, Patrick and Lynn (our hosts) were delightful and informative and Lynn's breakfasts and evening snacks were fabulous! This farm house was completely redone (to the studs) and built specifically for B & B use by the owners. This means private bathrooms for each room/suite and great noise control. We stayed in the Veliquette room which was lovely. There are suites as well but our room size was just fine. If you'd like a long soak in the tub to be part of your B & B experience then spring for the extra $50 a night and book one of the suites. The farmhouse is situated about 10 minutes outside of Traverse City by car. Patrick had fantastic restaurant recommendations for both nights we stayed. A box of menus are kept on site so we were able to peruse prior to going. Wine and snacks are waiting for you in the evenings - yum! We had a full schedule while in Traverse City but should you desire to stick around the B & B there's plenty to do (or not do, if you so choose). Darts, croquet, horseshoes, walks in the orchard, sipping wine on the large deck, napping in the hammock... We will definitely be coming back and bringing friends!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and given a wealth of information regarding the B&B, activities available there and in the surrounding area. This B & B is a beautifully restored farm house, with a lot of proud history. It is on a quiet hill overlooking Grand Traverse Bay (Lake Michigan). We were there only one night (big mistake) and did not have an opportunity to engage in numerous activities which were available. Too bad we didn't have the time to stroll through the cherry orchards available a few yards away, although we did enjoy fresh cherries with our delicious breakfast. (This area hosts the Annual National Cherry Festival). Lynn and Patrick, our innkeepers could not have been more accommodating. We have stayed at a lot of B & B's over the years (we're both in our 70's) and can honestly say this one tops the list! In fact, we have never before taken the time to write a review.
