My husband and I (early thirty-somethings) stayed at the Country Hermitage in October 2004. We were pleased by the beautiful home and its convenient location for our wine-tasting plans around the area.
The staff were very friendly and greeted us on arrival and gave a brief tour. We were surprised by how infrequently we interacted with the owners (who live off-site), as opposed to their staff.
We stayed in the Morrison Room, which was attractive and very efficiently heated by the fireplace. We agree with an earlier review that the whirlpool tub was over-rated - barely large enough for a single tall person. That feature was not as romantic as I'd presumed it would be.
The breakfasts were very tasty and made use of local produce. Wine and snacks were always available in the evenings, which was nice.
Overall, we were a bit disappointed in the value for the price of the room, but it was overall a pleasant experience.
