We were shocked to see Sam's Bistro closed, but found that they moved down the street. Also revised the name to Sam's Grille and Pizzeria. The menu has been expanded, and the new space is larger and much nicer. Same great food. http://samsgrille.com/

Good selection of pizza and great fresh hummis. Ethnic middle eastern cuisine is great too. In a small town like Whitehall many places close early and are closed during the fall. Sams is openall year and h as great hours.

Sam's is a great eatery for take out or dine in. Having moved a couple blocks down Colby St. at the end of last year, Sam and his customers are warming up to his new digs.

Our last meal from Sam's was take-out pizza and salad. I was taking lunch to my mom who has to eat gluten-free. Sam's just this year started offering gluten-free pizza. I ended up taking two gluten-free pizzas to Mom as the cook accidently made the wrong pizza the first time. Sam apologized and made up for it by giving me the "wrong" pizza (along with the correct one which I had to wait just a little while for) at no charge. The Greek Salad was awesome, as usual. (Love the feta cheese and the house vinaigrette.) My mom, who has had Muskegon-area restaurants' gluten-free pizzas, said this was probably the second best pizza she'd eaten.

Sam's does good business with the weekend breakfast crowd. Service is usually good, sometimes a little slow, but it's not a fast food place.

Try it out some time when he has steak kabob or another specialty advertised. Also, the lasagna is very good!

The restaurant was very colorful and the decor was great for my toddler to look around and point while he was waiting for his dinner. I got a 12 inch house supreme pizza and it was brushed with olive oil on the crust.

My wife had the combination platter for a more Lebanese cuisine dish. It was served with a deluxe salad and came with hummus and some pita. My wife's impression of the hummus was that it was a bit bland and lacking enough flavor. She commented on the abundance oil in the hummus, that it overpowered the taste.

There was a child's menu available inside the main menu (viewable on website) however there was not any milk or juice for a child to drink and they are limited to water or soda.

I would dine here again and I would recommend this place to anyone in the area.
