“Friendly staff”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

Dave, our server, was a real trouper--called in to serve our party of 19. The menu was full of interesting and unusual things (I had basil chicken lettuce wraps), and others in our party rated the fried perch very high. Saw a blue heron standing just a few feet away out the window. Beautiful views.

“Nice place on the harbor”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

Very, Very helpful, courteous and friendly wait staff. Love, love, love the 3 cheese appetizer. Waitress made some up for us to take home. DELICIOUS. We were a party of 7 and everything we ordered was wonderful. Nice atmosphere located on the harbor. Very convenient to the Weathervane Inn. Highly recommend the Crosswinds!

“Great food and view”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

Loved the food and loved that we could order gluten free and soy free and dairy free choices. The outdoor deck was our choice for our evening dining experience. The wait staff was very good and the food delicious!

“Lovely View”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

This restaurant was in a marina and was recommended by our hotel. We sat outside on the deck and had a lovely view of the water and marina. The food was good and the menu had a varied selection. Our picky 13 year old son and his equally picky 22 year old cousin found plenty of things they liked. I had the whitefish dinner cajun style which was good, not very spicy. i asked for no rice but they brought it anyway. We also got a side of the creamed spinach with crab which was fantastic. One of our party had a burger with chips and said it was really good. The other had the boneless wing basket which he also really liked. This restaurant is a good choice with a great view.

“Crosswinds Resurrected once again”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

The Crosswinds Restaurant was for a long time the standard for excellence in the Whitehall, Michigan area especially among the 'Summer Residents'. Many of us are long time seasonal residents who require a little more of food than quantity as do many of the local families and Crosswinds fits the bill. It was always one of the featured restaurants because it was exceptionally good, consistent with service and food creativity, and had a lovely view waterside on White lake where, if you were so inclined, you could boat to the dock and tie up for dinner at the restaurant.
My (now grown) son loved Chicken Whitehall, a receipe I have never seen anywhere else. Well, unfortunately, the new owners did not bring that one back, but their menu is both varied and creative. All dishes we had were prepared well and were served together as they should be at a proper dinner. The wine list was very good featuring many Michigan wines which have not been adequately recognized outside of the state but, as someone who has sampled Alsace wines at the Colmar wine festival, many of the white wines from this region of Michigan can easily compete with many of the Reislings of Alsace.
All in our party agreed this new version of this long time, well known restaurant should be on any list of destinations for those staying in the area. SInce this is year one of this resurrestion of an old favorite, we only expect it will improve with age as many of the wines on the shelves will.
