“Great little ski hill, poor service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

This is a nice little ski hill, especially for learning. However, it seems like most of the people we dealt with who worked there were pretty grumpy. The lady who got us our passes never smiled, and was super unhelpful. After skiing we went to get a beer in the Sky Bar. While sitting there, we were treated to a conversation between the cook and a bartender about having sex with an amputee! Classy! I guess I don't care who anybody sleeps with, but if I'm paying to be in an establishment, i prefer that the people serving me act in a professional manner. We'll return for the skiing, but that left a very bad impression about the management and staff.

Thank sebsss

“Kid Friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

Enjoyed a long weekend in Michigan and spent two days skiing at this resort. Overall I was pleased with the quality of the runs. The snow was well manicured and the staff was friendly. We checked our kids into the day long ski school and they enjoyed the experience. Indianhead was one of the few resorts in the area that offered this type of child care for younger kids. Indian Head offers both full day and half day equipment rental and lift ticket options making it a cheaper alternative for families that might not want to ski all day. Most of the resorts in the area require a full day lift ticket and equipment rental.

We ate lunch in the lodge which is a little dated. The food options basically consisted of standard fast food like hamburgers. You might want to consider packing a lunch since the food is a little pricey considering the average quality. Overall I really enjoyed Indian Head and would highly recommend for anyone traveling with kids.

“Classic family-friendly ski hill in the UP”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

There are MANY great ski hills in the U.P., and one of them is Indianhead. The ski instructors are friendly, the ski patrol are kind, and the people working the small cafeteria are helpful and fun!

As for the skiing, conditions tend to be nice for people that are at least of an intermediate level- beginniners might find the snow to be dificult at times. The terrain is fun and exhilirating and there are runs for many different people of different comfort ranges. There is also a tiny bunny hill for new learners or young children.

Highlight: If you tire easily while skiing, there is a lodge to relax and warm up.

Low point: There are usually a lot of ski RACERS around Indianhead depending on when you go- this could affect the amount of runs that are open and your level of enjoyment.

Hope this helps! Let me know if it does! :)

“Good Skiing”

Probably the best of the ski resorts I've been to in Michigan. Situated way up in the U.P, some friends and I spent a nice day skiing and enjoying the weather.
