I've stayed at the Garden Grove on two separate ocassions and I can't tell you how much I look forward to visiting again. I have stayed at the B&B during the winter season and despite the freezing temperatures and distinct lack of swimming costume weather, the location is great for exploring the exciting coastline of Lake Michigan in the snow.

The hosts are very pleasant and the breakfasts are lovely (especially the homemade muffins) and they are served in a lovely open plan dining area for guests staying in the main house. Guests staying in the Carriage House can expect a delicious delivery straight to their door each morning.

The rooms are really something special, with each one decorated in its own style. I stayed in the main house on my first visit, in The Violet room. It had the most adorable small claw footed bath that I soaked in for an hour each night to take away the chill off the day's exertions. The shower over the bath was great too, very powerful with a lovely drench head. The bed was comfortable and sitting up in bed I had a great view out over the small balcony into the front garden. Each room has a small tv and some have a VCR player, which may seem a little antiquated but the hosts have a great little video library that you can pick some retro films from if you fancy something to wacth. With the winter special offer, it was fantastic value for money at a little over $100 for 2 nights.

On my second visit I stayed in the Carriage House in the Garden Retreat. This was a phenomenal room with a gas fire (a big plus for the winter visitor!) and a huge jacuzzi bath. The floor space was pretty vast for just one person, but it would be ideal for a couple wanting to getaway and have their own private space to enjoy their holiday. Again the bed was very comfortable and I have a wonderful couple of nights' sleep.

The B&B is about 5 minutes drive from the beach and even in the winter it's a great place to go for a nice bracing walk before retreating to one of the small towns along the coast to enjoy some lovely local hospitality. I can recommend The Roadhouse in Union Pier (great ribs, and if they happen have the pork shank on the menu you are in for a real treat!).

If you're looking for a friendly B&B that is out of the way of the hustle a bustle of daily life, but not so remote that you can't enjoy a relaxing vacation with lots of things to do, I can assure you that this is the place to try.

Tucked away off the beaten path but close to the beach, restaurants and shopping.
Relaxing home atmosphere with good food and hospitality by the owners. We keep returning when we need to get away from the stress of work or obligations at home. It's always like a second, third, fourth.....honeymoon for us.

This was a great B&B. We stayed the the Woodlands suite and it was just beautiful. The owners were very nice and the breakfasts were fantastic. We enjoyed the area and the wineries, but not a lot of shops to browse. Lake Michigan is just great.

Garden Grove Bed & Breakfast exceeded our expectations. It was our first time at a bed & breakfast. Future bed and breakfast stays will be held to a very high standard because of our experience at Garden Grove. The garden theme and decor was very well done. Every room was very clean and comfortable. Great location right off the highway and in the midst of the Wine Trail. We would definitely consider staying there again and recommending our friends. The hosts, Paula and Jerry, are thoughtful, helpful and friendly.
