We stayed at this delightful B&B on its opening weekend. You would have thought they had been in business for years. The owners, Julie and Eric, were so calm and efficient, attending to every guest and every need.
The rooms are wonderfully welcoming and not fussy (I cannot stand the old fashioned country B&B style). They are modern and have every amenity you could ask for. The bathrooms are fitted with huge whirlpool tubs, there were flat screen TVs in the room, and a fireplace as well. But the beds themselves are the attraction in these rooms. Each bed is a piece of art, crafted out of tree branches. We slept great, comfortable mattress as well as linens.
The breakfasts were just delicious, and very complete. Actually, too much to eat! We were treated to cheese and crackers one afternoon and the very best homemade cookies I've ever had another afternoon.
The owners are quite knowledgeable about the area, able to suggest day trips, restuarants and shopping. We visited a winery on their suggestion and were not disappointed. I also wanted to bring home some summer floral baskets. Julie suggested a garden center not far and I could not believe the beautiful merchandise and the bargain prices.
The wooded setting of this B&B is delightful, peaceful, and relaxing. A river runs through the property, and Eric has maps to give you an idea of trails, etc. Our room had a large porch that we sat on each day, enjoying the sounds of the woods in the day and the sky stars at night.
A very enjoyable and relaxing weekend retreat.

Room Tip: Ask for "Julie's favorite" room....the bed is amazing and you get the great outdoor deck as well! It's now our favorite, too.

We are so utterly humbled by your kind review and for each of your return visits! Your support of our first year at Goldberry Woods has been appreciated beyond words. We always delight in your fantastic reviews of all of our local, Harbor Country restaurants, and the subsequent photos of each course! You keep us up to date in our own ability to give out restaurant reviews!

I absolutely love the decor, color scheme, and detail put into this beautiful inn. From the moment you step inside, Eric and Julie make you feel right at home. They have the ability to make each guest feel special. Beds are worth the effort to make the trip, linens and towels are divine, breakfast is absolutely delicious, and I love their sunroom-- perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee. Did I mention that EVERYthing it's brand new?I'm not saying anymore because I selfishly want Goldberry Woods all for myself.

We stayed at Goldberry Woods on their re-opening weekend and it was a delightful and relaxing experience. We were warmly greeted by Julie & Eric and welcomed into their newly refurbished B&B, our home for the night. The building has 8 guest rooms, but is spread out so you don't feel crowded or intruded upon. We stayed in the Sassafrass room, but peeked into all the rooms ... each has a hand crafted queen sized bed, made from different woods from the area, so you feel like you are sleeping amidst nature (but in a clean and safe way!) Each room is spotless, comfortable and welcoming and has a 2-person jacuzzi tub and a gas fireplace. Our room shared a private deck (2nd floor) which overlooks the property.

There are several common rooms where you can gather or you can walk the ample property and see the garden/farm, orchard, beehives, river and woods. While we didn't use them, we noticed bikes and kayaks available as well. There are also two "cottages" on the property that can be rented for families (3 bedrooms).

Julie is a great cook and a wonderful hostess, so we enjoyed freshly baked cookies (took home the recipe!) in the afternoon, and a scrumptious and plentiful breakfast in the morning. We love the area and feel quite at home at Goldberry Woods ... plotting to find time to return as soon as we can.

Room Tip: We recommend the Sassafras or Hornbeam rooms, as they are most removed from the others and have a deck off or each. We traveled with another couple and loved these rooms.

This place was beautiful. It was close to New Buffalo beach. The rooms were very unique and comfortable. Breakfast was great. And the price was better than most other places in the area. I would stay again.

We spent a wonderful 4 days at River's Edge. It was a comfortable and funfilled time. We meet up with my sisters family and enjoyed the beautiful grounds and camp fires. It was a relaxing time with wonderful hosts and great food. The sunsets at the beach made the trip so great and then returned to wine and cheese with delicious desserts. We look forward to returning for many more trips.
