The staff very friendly and helpfull. Room was clean. breakfest was pretty good the lady taking care of it was very very nice and upbeat. kids loved her. coffee waas hot and fresh. only downfall was the pool was small and to much colorine in it. it burned your eyes just walking and staying in there to watch your kids. its hard to see from the road.

Stayed here with family to attend a weekend youth soccer tourney. Hotel location for travel to/from Keystone Soccer Fields was superb. Rooms are very clean and well appointed. Breakfast offering was fair and seating was limited- mainly due to teams all eating at same time. Staff was very friendly and always helpful and accomodating. Entry to the hotel is a little hidden behind the Cracker Barrel restaurant and can be confusing upon entering the first time. We found that using the stairs was much faster than trying the elevator! This hotel is on the southern tip of the TC area, however we ventured downtown on a few occasions and the trip was quick and easy.

This hotel was clean and the staff was friendly but it is in need of more updating. It is off the beaten path, but only a short ride to down town. Breakfast was included in the price of the hotel but the selection was not great. Microwave egg sandwiches and hard boiled eggs but the waffle machine was good. The Crackle Barrel was just in front of the hotel and breakfast there was great and it also offered shopping. There is no restaurant in this hotel so you will need to go out but there are lots of chooses close by.

Room Tip: This was a reasonable priced hotel. We paid $107 through hotel.com

A nice clean hotel. Could have used more decor on the room walls as they had high ceilings so it would have made it look more homey. the colours that decorated the room did look cool, new, and modern. Breakfast was great as you can make your own Belgian waffles! This hotel was also in a good location with lots of food places to eat around.

I recently stayed here this August for a Bachelorette Party. We had 2 connected rooms. The hotel was clean, had an indoor pool and jacuzzi, and a continental breakfast. The breaskfast was so/so, but what do you expect with a free breakfast. They had all the basics. The pool was open until 11 for adults and 10 for kids, which was nice for us. The hotel is kinda far from the main city, so make sure you have transportation. Overall, good experience. I would stay here again,

The first rule of traveling to a resort destination is that you are almost always going to pay more than you should, this is especially true when it comes to hotels. Inevitably the choice comes down to deciding between the high end premium properties or the overpriced budget offerings though sometimes you can almost find a middle ground and in this case the Fairfield was the middle ground that surprised us.

Being in the middle means that you’re going to see a variety of guests, from the high school age volleyball team, retirees, couples on a weekend getaway or families so finding a hotel that can keep all sects from driving each other crazy is a rare thing. We think that the Farfield did this pretty well. Walking in you see a strikingly clean lobby that is modern, up to date and contemporary. The staff was helpful, friendly and welcoming. On the ground floor there is an indoor pool and hot tub on the way to the elevator that appeared to be well maintained and clean. We took the elevator up to the third floor, blissfully away from the teenage volleyball team and given the lack of racket, the families with kids as well. That or the hotel really is that well insulated. Regardless, the bright hallways become vibrant guestrooms, a nice sized room with couch, king sized bed, arm chair along with a desk and desk chair, all modern, colorful and appearing to be very new. The bathroom also appeared to have been recently remodeled.

As far as comforts, the bed was frankly amazing; it seems to have some type of memory foam as a part of the mattress so it was perfect, firm yet contoured, the kind of bed that inspires snooze alarms; if you don’t get a decent night’s sleep on this be I don’t know what it will take. The one area that was a little lacking were the towels, they are thin but clean. Then again, this is a Fairfield, not the Ritz so in that context they are perfectly suitable.

Keep in mind this is a hotel meant to serve as a base of operations, not to be a destination in its own right, by that I mean that yes, it has a pool and a lobby but you’re not going to spend all day at the hotel if the weather is not cooperating. For that; the location is great, if the weather turns you can always spend the day wandering the mall or catch a movie at the cinema less than half a mile away. Since we had nothing but clear skies and sun we chose to take the 10 minute drive downtown as well as heading off onto the wine tasting routes all of which makes this a far better location than you might think.

Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that yes, the hotel features a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast area can get a little congested if you’re a late riser but the range of yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, cereal and the now seemingly standard waffle station ensure that you’ll start your day with a decent breakfast as you venture out; oh, and the coffee is decent too.

All this made for a hotel experience that was better than expected, yes the seasonal rates are higher than they should be but that’s the case everywhere in Traverse City so you just have to accept it or be more flexible in timing your visit. I’d have no problem recommending this hotel.

Great location. Staff very friendly with many ideas for activities and restaurants in the area. The staff would be one reason to return. The 3 helpful women are an assett to this hotel. Rooms are large and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Towels were a little on the thin side. Would stay here on future visits?
