The Hampton is well located across the road from the bay, about a mile or so from downtown Traverse City. Nice hotel, rooms well appointed, trimmed in dark cherry, which looks modern. The only thing the rooms lacked were microwaves and refrigerators to keep our snacks in. The walls between rooms were a little thin. I could hear someone in the next room yawn in the morning while everything was still quiet in our room. Friendly staff, included breakfast featuring eggs & bacon one morning and french toast and sausage the next; oatmeal, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, breads and pastries also. Great 24 hour coffee/tea bar in the lobby. Would definitely recommend.

I was here for nearly a week on two separate occasions for business. Fantastic location, super friendly staff, lovely and clean breakfast area with nice view of the lake, clean interior corridors, exercise room, lobby and rooms. My only complaint is the size of the rooms. VERY, very small. By contrast, the rooms at the Hampton Inns in nearby Petoskey and Gaylord are much larger. Other than small room size, highly recommend this for business travel in Traverse City.

My husband and I stayed at this property during our first trip to Traverse City. We spent a couple of days here after visiting another nearby city for business, and it was a clean and quiet property right across from the east bay. Service was good, and the hotel provided a good home base as we explored Traverse City and nearby attractions.

We were in a newly updated room that was modern but a little small. This seems to be a trend with Hampton Inn trying to maximize space, but it would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room, along with more closet space. The bed was comfortable, and the hotel was clean and quiet. The daily breakfast had the standard options of cold and hot items.

During the busy tourist season, I'm sure this property is very busy, and some people might enjoy that it's away from the hustle and bustle of downtown (although it is on a busy road and near many restaurants and other businesses). It's location across from a public beach is a nice amenity.

I have travel the world for work and stayed in some of the finest establishments across the continents. Rarely do I applause a motel as highly. This was an inexpensive, spotless, genuinely kind place to stay. Brandon is amazing.

I seek out the Hilton family chain of hotels. This one was up to par which I was happy about. The only thing I thought was odd was that the desk staff was wearing T-shirt, the other was wearing a wrinkled dress shirt hanging out - no uniform of any kind. Night shift had name tags, day shift did not.

Room Tip: They have an indoor pool (5 feet) and hot tub.
