My wife and I were looking for a tranquil getaway trip and chose Traverse City and Wind in the Pines Bed & Breakfast - wow, what a fantastic choice! Cindee and Chuck are wonderful hosts - gourmet breakfasts, attention to every detail, welcoming and full of great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. For example, there are over 30 wineries in the Traverse City area, but Cindee and Chuck guided us towards those which either had the types of wines we liked and/or were great experiences - admittedly, we still visited several that were not on their "recommended list" and found that their suggestions were right-on-the-target!

As for the home, it was a beautiful log-cabin-like design, but far from a log cabin!! Gorgeous living/dining room area with cathedral ceiling, plush beds and carpeting, ultra-clean bathroom, single-made-to-order coffee machine 24/7, chocolates in the room -- and excellent and tasty breakfasts! The surrounding pine trees and landscaped grounds were beautiful and tranquil and we saw a variety of birds throughout our 3-1/2 day stay...hummingbirds, finches, even wild turkeys.

We can't say enough about Wind-in-the-Pines and are definitely planning a return trip as soon as we can. Thank you, Cindee and Chuck, for a phenomenal experience!

This was our first stay at a B&B, and we stayed for two nights. We chose Wind in the Pines for its great value, location, and queitness. It is a newer log home with a rustic theme, surrounded by pine trees. It was very clean. We stayed in the Pine Cone room, which had a comfy bed, tv, dvd player, alarm clock, A/C, and spotless bathroom. The innkeepers were great hosts, and served a delicious breakfast on both days of our stay. The location was excellent for visiting wineries in Leelanau Peninsula and Old Mission Peninsula, downtown Traverse City , and the Sleeping Bear Dunes.

The photos on the website are great, but we were blown away at how amazing Wind in the Pines was in person. Cindee and Chuck have it down to a science; this is truly their calling in life. Their home is warm, welcoming, and spotless...so, so, so clean! We stayed in the Pine Cone room and are already thinking of when we can come back and stay. The grounds are gorgeous and very peaceful - so quiet and tranquil. Breakfast was also AMAZING. We stayed 2 nights and had 2 gourmet breakfasts cooked by our innkeepers. The food was delicious and really shocked us. We are foodies ourselves and were blown away. Our bathroom was clean and just perfect - we felt so at home here that we didn't want to leave. Thank you to Cindee and Chuck for having us for the weekend; we will be back anytime we come to Traverse City!

My wife and I spent one night at the Wind in the Pines on a short weekend trip, and we were delighted by the comfortable atmosphere, wonderful breakfast, and pleasant hospitality of Chuck and Cindee. The place was spotless, the bed was perfect, and we felt very welcomed and relaxed after a day of driving.

This is a lovely log home, off the beaten path but very convenient to town. It's also convenient if you want to drive over west to Sleeping Bear Dunes. We stayed in the Moose Room, which was large, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Bring your own toiletries, however. The yard is a certified wildlife habitat, beautifully landscaped and surrounded by pine trees. There is a large common area with a guest refrigerator stocked with cold drinks. Breakfast was delicious.

We stayed two nights at the Wind in the Pines and enjoyed it very much. The B&B is located west of Traverse City which makes it an easy drive to the Sleeping Bear sand dunes and the peninsula area. I usually like to stay in town so we can walk, but this didn't seem to be feasible in Traverse City. The B&B was a pleasant drive from downtown TC and it was much more enjoyable than many of the cement and highrise touristy facilities on the eastern side of town. The log home is interesting and well designed and the room comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed talking with Chuck and he was very helpful in suggesting places to see and restaurants to try. He is also an excellent cook. We would certainly stay here again.
