Stella's lives up to its deserved reputation as one of Traverse City's finest restaurants. The setting is unique, in the basement of a former state psychiatric hospital with impressive architecture. Our wait person, Cathy, was a consummate professional. The entire meal was sumptuous, with my wife's selection of butternut squash, pistachios & basil soup and Atlantic scallops as the entree truly delicious. My selection of field greens salad with herb vinaigrette and pan-seared Scottish salmon on a bed of soft polenta was also mouth-watering. The wine selection is extensive and well-chosen.
While somewhat pricey, Trattoria Stella does not disappoint and is an excellent choice for a special event.
