Wonderful place for lunch or dinner. Service is exceptional. Children are welcome however best to leave at home. This is a fine dining experience children don't really fit. Check the menu at their web site.

Great food and a first class bar and wait staff. Worth the money! Great decor and the building is a turn of the century marvel.

We were in Traverse City for a business meeting and wanted Italian. Stella's came highly recommended and didn't disappoint. It was a rainy Sunday summer evening and it was packed. I called ahead and they said they couldn't take walk-ins until 9:00 PM. When I said we just wanted to sit and eat at the bar they said to come on over. We got the last two seats at the bar. It was a fun experience to sit and watch the bartenders and servers perform what seemed like magic and they made drinks, served meals, worked around one another.

Despite how busy they were, Sara, Jenny and Brandon were all pleasant and helpful (Sara even apologized for not being more attentive). The food & wine was terrific. Enjoyed fresh bread with our wine while we waited for our entrees. My husband had the linguini with rabbit sausage. He said it was great. I had the Maltagliati (wide ribbons of homemade pasta with a beef ragu). It was terrific.

It was a fun, it was reasonable (it really was), we shared a great Super Tuscan wine. We had just about a perfect night. We'd definitely return. Also love the fact that they took a beautiful old building and renovated it. Lots of character.

Thanks to the staff for a great evening!

All the food we had was really good, but the highlight of this experience was the atmosphere. Being in the rehabbed Northern Michigan Asylum for the Insane was really cool. It was really interested to see the old delapidated part of the institution and the newly renovated part where the Trattoria is. All in all it made for a great night.
