If you are looking for the kind of ice cream places USED to serve - small town dairies, specialty shops and ice cream parlors - this is IT!. Just the best I have ever tried, and that's a lot. I used to drive 2 hours to a small dairy near Kalamazoo but I don't have to anymore...it's better in TC. Plus, Nancy Jon and the rest of the crew (even Bob!) are some of the nicest people on earth.

This place is located right around the corner from where i live. They always are busy but worth the wait. Ice cream flavors made on location and cheerful delivery by local kids. I treat myself to a visit at least once a week during the summer for getting yardwork done and a delicious treat it is.

Delicious ice cream and the dairy farm is right next door, so you can watch the cows while you enjoy your ice cream. A must-visit when I am in Traverse City.

Be sure to make time to visit their dairy to see how they make the ice cream and to try some free samples.

If you are in the area, you simply have to go there. It's about half way between Traverse City and Long Lake. It's the quintessential dairy farm that makes its own ice cream. You can watch the cows grazing and on warm summers evenings, sit outside and enjoy the ice cream.

Unlike some of these places, they haven't turned it into a theme park. They simply make and serve ice cream (plus milk, ice cream cakes, etc. to go) and will do tours for groups if booked in advance.

It's not the "best" ice cream, if you are a purist looking for only one or two ingredients on the label, but it is tasty, and although you can buy it in grocery stores, it somehow tastes better at the creamery.

Kids love it, with all the toppings and sundaes and so on.
