FIrst time here, and I will be back. I had the chicken pastie-yummy! Extra warm gravy hit the spot...even the iced tea was just right!

“A local treat.”
Reviewed May 20, 2009

Cousin Jenny's is a local treat by anyone's standards. I have been going to this place since it was at its old location in Good Harbor Coffee, 20 some-odd years ago. Though I currently live out of state, this place is always on the to-do list while in town.

The pasties are, in a word, awesome; traditional Steak is always good, but I tend to go for the Steak and Cheddar or French Potato depending on the day. Add a spot of sour cream and you are in heaven. They also make these smaller pasties in the morning called "Breakfast Bobby's". These are absolutely delicious and usually sell out fast--by 8:30am and earlier even--as locals like myself grab them up on their way to work.

The service, the food, the location, and the atmosphere are impeccably great. The owners take pride in what they do, and are in there at 4am every day making these labor-intensive treats. If you want a traditional taste of the northern past, or even just a good salad or bowl of soup, check out Cousin Jenny's.

“great find”
Reviewed September 10, 2008

My husband was from Flint Michigan, so loved the pasties he'd had in his youth, so we went looking when we came to northern Michigan. Cousin Jenny's has great pasties, fresh made each morning and has not only the traditional pastie, but has varieties like chicken, Italian, a German type like a Reuben in rye dough, and a French potato with ham and cheese available on different days. Soups and salads are good too and we love the raspberry lemonade.

We look forward to visiting every summer when we are here.
