This is a wonderful restaurant with a fantastic location on the water and views of the sunset! We were married on Old Mission Peninsula 2 years ago and fell in love with this restaurant! Doug and Chef Eric always make us feel so welcome! The morel soup is amazing.....we visited this past weekend from Ohio and also had the delicious scallops, the sauce was so good! Chef Eric convinced us to try his flour-less chocolate cake and soup....absolutely worth the calories:}We are already talking about our next visit.

“Culinary and Visual Delight”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

When visiting Traverse City, Michigan, this is THE only restaurant my husband and I frequent. The morel mushroom soup is as good as others have claimed, the bartenders are astute and friendly, the service is sublime. The food is deliciously eclectic and the wine/beverage pairings are excellent. It's always a most romantic, sensory experience as we take in the ambiance both inside and outside this cozy restaurant. I highly recommend you try The Boathouse no matter which season finds you yearning for a memorable dining experience; you will not be disappointed and will immediately feel like family.

“Bury me in the Morel Mushroom Soup”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

On a very cold and stormy day my friend Patrice and I stumbled into this amazing restaurant for a quick lunch before going to the airport for a flight back to San Francisco where there is no shortage of great food.

Choosing off this varied and enticing menu was challenging so the appetizer plate of tempura asparagus with the smoked tomato side sauce was meant to help us get started. it was the lightest most perfectly battered tempura and the delicious asparagus was tender with just enough crunch. The smoky sauce was scrumptious. I finally chose the soup and completely swooned. I've never had anything as good anywhere in the world.

We were in a bit of a time crunch so didn't have time for dessert (this time) so we will be back for sure in the Summer. Thanks so much to Michael for his hospitality, We had a great experience at the scenic Boathouse!

“Amazing!”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

We had the pleasure of having dinner at this fabulous restaurant with some friends. The food was great and so was the service. Chef Eric even came out and explained alot about the different spices and how different things were made which made us feel very welcome. I would recommend this place to anyone!

“Try it once and you'll be comparing everything else to it!”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

If you like excellent service, amazing ambiance, fantastic food, and great wine - this is the kind of place for you. This is my wife and I's personal favorite Traverse City area restaurant. Chef Eric pours his passion for food into each plate and we have yet to be disappointed in the staffs recommendations for a wine with our dinner selections. Everything we've had has been a pleasure to eat.
