The library is a gem for Traverse City. Quiet, efficient and generally well stocked. The staff are always helpful and the ambiance is perfect for quiet reading or just reflecting on something you have read, or plan to read.

We needed a computer to print off our boarding passes and the nice man at the front desk gave us a temporary library number and fifteen free minutes on the computer.

If you leave in Traverse City, you can have a library card for free, so don't hesitate, go register !!!
You can put holds on line and when the book or dvd or cd you choosed is available they send you an email so you just have to go there and pick up your reservation.
Some other days, I spend a long time between the books trying to pick up the one I hope I'll enjoy.
They don't have what you're looking for, try melcat, it gives you access to quantity of Michigan's library, you can book online and go to your usual library to pick up your melcat product ;o)

I am a big fan of woodmere library.

Great library with much to offer in way of books, computers, videos, music, etc... but be sure to get outside and walk through the delightful garden area. Keep walking to the childrens garden area where there are individual vegetable gardens, complete with scarecrows and sculptures. There is a brick oven for pizzas and a nice little building for classes, etc...A hidden treasure for Traverse City.
