“Great beer and flatbread pizza!”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Drank all of the 6 beer samples on the sampler, then ordered glasses of the session IPA- wow! Classic Michigan-style IPA. We split the salad with pears/figs/blue cheese, and the Burlington Northern flatbread pizza. The food and the beers were excellent. Beer advise from the bartenders was intelligent and helpful. Would highly recommend the Filling Station. I only hope that they do not become outlandishly busy in the summer when we will try to return.

“Let 's Cut the BS ..Here is a locals opinion”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Here is the deal...I am local and I home brew...David although aloof is by far the best brewer in TC...also the joint is stripped down and basic...the way locals like it...at $4.50 a pint you cannot go wrong...pizza is very good with alot of choices ....beer selection is strong..not a hop head but if you are one you will like it even more...family business they are always there and on top of things...the two Tom's are down to earth great tenders...at the end leave the 20 somethings at 7 Bucks...I like jimmy and matt but they cater to the $$$ crowd...if you want the real deal get to Filling Station and enjoy the BEER...skip the rest and taste the best :)....oh I also lived and bar tended in Chicago so yes I have seen and done it all from 4 stars to dives...no BS here pull up a seat and get out of the tourist BS and enjoy local Up North experience...

“A unique and tasty restaurant/microbrew in Traverse City”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

I went to the Filling Station after seeing the review on the "My North best eats" website, and was glad I did. A unique, delicious menu offering a variety of flatbreads, salads and microbrews all handmade on site. It also feels good to support a locally owned/operated restaurant. We had the Burlington Northern Flatbread and Cock of the Walk. Wonderful variety of flavors but well balanced. The microbrew menu is impressive with a variety of options for different tastes, and staff is knowledgeable and encourage tastings at the bar. I'll be back in the summer to check out the patio.

“Great place for happy hour!”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

Great central location. Not overpriced. Friendly staff, good pizza, beer and atmosphere. Lots of sunlight - not a dark, windowless pub. Super atmosphere.

“Nothing gets in the way of the pizza and beer!”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

Enjoyed the Friday night pre- and post-rush hour with three of my buddies. The beer taps were outstanding, starting with London Porter, going on to Scottish stout, three local ambers and finishing with a very rich Austrian beer, whose name I'll have to get the next time! We each ordered and shared wood-oven pizzas that were just excellent. I lived in Providence, RI, during the start of the wood-oven pizza craze at Al Forno's and I'd say that the pizza at the Filling Station was just as good. Very little meat in the offing, which I found refreshing, and lots of interesting and fresh toppings. Best of all, no wait staff hovered at our every move, or asked us the usual questions just as our mouths were full! Four guys, seated feet from a fantastic bar, and plenty of good pizza--now that is a Friday night!
