Front street truly offers something for everyone....shopping, food, entertainment and glimpses of Grand Traverse Bay along the way. Traverse City has done a great job keeping Front Street a destination for visitors to Northern Michigan. I had not been for awhile and was very impressed. And, we managed to spend well too!

Front Street in downtown Traverse City is a fun place to eat and shop. There are absolutely great stores with very unique fashions for you or your home, jewelry, and art. The restaurants and breweries are great. Don't forget the regional wine.

Traverse City has the best maintained and restored Main Street in the Midwest. Other towns and their urban planners should visit and note how professionally overseen Front Street is. The town and chamber of commerce work diligently to keep it this way.

Clean, friendly, excellent traffic control, well policed, safe and fun. The blend of old and new is done so seamlessly that it is virtually unnoticeable. The under the road access to the lake front is also very handy and intelligent. It gives people the opportunity to move fluidly from downtown to the lake and back.

This town is very friendly to people who enjoy walking.

Super cute shops, but pricey! T-shirt shops are reasonable, definitely check out Sugarkissed for a sweet treat. It's a pretty area and close to the water. Easy to walk around and plenty of metered parking. Delicious restaurants about throughout this area! Great smoke house restaurant too. Everything from casual to fine dining and lots of brew pubs as well. There's something for everyone here!

So many times, the "main street" is full of only t-shirt and fudge shops that real people don't need to see again. This street has 2 fine shoe stores, clothing for men and women, a great bookstore, a movie theatre, and lots of restaurants.
