The lodge is nice for kids in various ages. One day and you pretty much get the waterpark experience covered. Room (kids cabin) was spacious and clean. Hallways on floor 1 were kind of neglected- some missing side rails and paint here and there. Bowling experience was. Not so good - had to wait more than 30 minutes until a guy came to help us through the technical issue with the payment. Overall it is a nice option for family with kids in decent fare.

Great place for a weekend "get-away" for parents with kids and for the grandparents too! Wonderful destination. Plenty to do at the water park, the evening story time and fun places to go for making crafts with the kids. Traverse City has great shopping and sight seeing too. All in all a great thing to do! The rooms with the loft are especially good for extended family stays!

We were very very impressed with our room! It had recently been remodeled and had new beds & furniture. The mattresses were super comfy! I think they may have been some sort of memory foam? The guest service was super fast and very friendly. Our sofa bed, which was brand new, had some sort of manufacturing defect and wouldn't open properly. Guest services came within 5 minutes and changed out the sofa bed for a new one.

We were impressed by the different activities in the waterpark for all age ranges! I was also able to relax a little bit because of the amount of lifeguards present and their continual attentiveness to the safety of everyone in the water.

The staff was very friendly everywhere we went. We also ate at the hotel restaurant. The food was great and the service was friendly. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant.

We went in the middle of April and had a great rate for the middle of the week.

I would love to go back again in the off season!

We went to the Great Wolf Lodge as a vacation and extended anniversary get away. We wanted a place were we could relax and our 21mth old could have fun, excitement, and wonder. The Lodge was just the right place for that. A few things that we ran into was that there was only room service while the restaurant was open. Our 21mth old needed breakfast before the restaurant opened so we had to find a way to get some food into her until we all had breakfast. My guess is that most guests go out to locale places to eat instead of eating in. Overall it was good fun.

Our daughter was married at GWL and I have to share that many of the guests questioned the choice of this venue for a wedding and reception. Boy were they surprised! The wedding was held outside in a wedding tent with the reception being held in the white pine ballroom. The plated dinners were awesome as was the serrvice. The ballroom looked beautiful; all the staff at GWL went above and beyond to help make the event a day to remember!

Spring break prices are almost offensively high. At almost $400/night we could have stayed almost anywhere.

Then again, the slides are fun for the kids, the facility is expertly managed (service was great!) and the lifeguards are paying strict attention (something to which I pay keen attention).

It was clean, in good shape and everything was great. The price is what brings down the rating for me.

Also, quiet hours aren't until 11pm. Our suite was near the front lobby, so we had incredibly loud kids running by in the hallways until 10:59:59. If we go again, we will request a room as far from the main lobby as possible.

Room Tip: Ask to be away from the main lobby. Our kids (6 & 8 years old) were kept awake by incredibly lo...

Our family of 4 stayed here overnight for a quick getaway. Long line at check-in, but they moved us through pretty quick. We had chosen to upgrade if available when I reserved online, so we were given a 'wolf den': queen bed with separate bunk bed area for the kids. There was also a pull-out couch, which my 12-year old took advantage of part-way through the night, because the bunk beds were so uncomfortable. The room was nice -- clean with a small fridge. The bathroom was tiny, though. Sink was in a separate area from the shower and toilet. The bedding on the bunk beds consisted of one thin blanket and sheets that would not stay on the bed. My six-year-old ended up sleeping on the bare mattress most of the night. There is also a balcony with chairs -- a nice idea if it didn't look directly out onto the parking lot.

The water park is fun, if fairly typical. It is not Kalahari, with it's many water slides and huge wave pool. But it has the usual activity area with smaller slides and bucket which periodically dumps water; a cute area for little ones with zero entry; hot tub; basketball area; lily pad area; and 3 big tube slides for 1,2,or 3 people. My kids enjoyed it. Older kids might get bored more quickly. In addition there is a Cubs Club with games and crafts, something called MagiQuest, which costs extra and we did not do. In summer, there's a mini golf course, and there's both a spa and a kid spa.
We had breakfast at the restaurant on site. The buffet is good with lots of options including an omelet station. Also a shout-out to the chef, who came out to discuss possibilities with my husband, who had a dairy allergy. They were very accommodating and we appreciated it. Our waitress was great, too.

We enjoyed our stay here. I just think that for what you get, it is on the expensive side. We have been to the Soaring Eagle Water Park in Mt Pleasant, which is almost identical, but quite a bit less expensive. And we stayed at Kalahari for less as well.
