We stayed one night but looked for another place to park the RV. Long term campers and uneven park spots were not appealing.

This was our first stop as we drove into Traverse City at sunset. My daughter was thrilled to stretch her legs and play on the playground. We returned the next day to play on the beach, which is nice and clean and large enough to hold several sunbathers. It was a beautiful sunny day, but the water was COLD -- maybe 60 degrees? The restroom and changing facility is convenient. There are picnic tables, and as mentioned, a playground. We wanted to finish our trip with a sunset there, but when we rolled in our last night at 7:00 or so, there was someone there to collect money (apparently there's a $9 fee for day-use, but no one had been there before so we didn't know that). While worth it if you're going to be there for several hours, there are other free places to watch the sun set. :)

I took my college roommates and we had a lot of sun and fun. Clean and with everything you need. Bathrooms. Tables. Benches. Trash receptacles and plenty of parking. The sand was clean. Great for a family too.

We visited the beach on the holiday. It was pretty busy. With having a state park pass we were waved in. There is a playground but didn't use it. My children loved playing on the beach in the sand. There was trash and recycle bins available. The restrooms were maintained. There are picnic tables and shade trees on the grass, there is beach access from the steps. Many families were there relaxing and taking in the East Traverse Bay area. The water is not as clear as the West Traverse Bay. The beach area is not large but suited our needs. Nice beach along the highway. On a busy day, parking can be an issue.

We camped here late September, the park was mostly empty.
Had a nice spot in the back, there is a paved bike path you can get on and ride to town and points beyond.
There are also restaurants within walking distance.
The drawbacks I see are that the sites are very close together with no privacy so if it were busy it would feel crowded. And the sites near the front would have a lot of street noise.
Would definitely go again off season.
