We tried someplace new this visit to Traverse City. It was advertised an "Oktoberfest" celebration, so we thought a good Oktoberfest beer and some local food sounded great. We stopped in at 12:05 and was told by staff they were not open until Noon. Check your watch! Totally not prepared for serving! We tripped over the girl on the floor writing on the menu chalkboard, squeezed by the other staff folding shirts on a table at the front door. I made a joke, about it being after Noon, and that they would have to let us in........dead pan response, no welcome, nothing. Having never been there we did not know where to sit or the information that it is self serve in the front, full service in the back and Oktoberfest celebration outside in the back. Later other people also greeted the same way and kinda just stumbled in. The waitress was friendly and explained the beer choices. ALSO NO OKTOBERFEST BEER!!! It was Saturday and they just opened to celebrate, but NO BEER. Other choices of course available. We had Tomato Soup, it was tasty, but lukewarm when it arrived and cold by the time we finished it. The sandwich was very good. The outside area was not set up AT ALL, totally unprepared, so that is why we ate inside. The atmosphere is nice, taproom, clean and chic. Bathrooms clean. May or may not try this place again.
