“Very cool!”
Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

Worth the trip just to see the beautiful buildings. The shops are very pricey but it was cool see a bit of the inside. If you like historical sights and want to take some great pictures then don't miss it.

“Renovation at it's best!”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

As a photographer, and someone who appreciates historical buildings, I loved to see this fabulous renovation of an old state hospital. Preserving this landmark adds so much to the city. Interesting shops, coffee shops, wine and food, along with office space, and at the same time a look at the portion of the hospital that is waiting to be renovated. A true before and after view. Loved it!

“Easy fun”

It was easy to go from one shop to another down the halls of Grand Traverse Commons. Shops had lots of unique items and the shopkeepers were so friendly.

“Great buildings....awful shopping”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

It is a really cool place to visit. This complex is huge, and it does give you a sense of its history. However, there are only a few shops so it's not worth going for a shopping adventure. There is a tour of the underground tunnels that we didn't have time for that would have been awesome to do. Beautiful setting and grounds.

“Unique setting; great shops”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

I've been fascinated with this building since I was a kid, and I'm glad to be able to go inside since it's been re-purposed. The building is hauntingly beautiful and I love all the shops.
