We came for dinner after being told the prime rib was really good here. Apparently on Sunday you get last nights prime rib leftovers that are then grilled. Mine was overdone and that juicy prime rib taste was loss. Not a fan.

This restaurant is a beautiful drive from Traverse City. It is located in an old mansion with a colorful history. There are claims that it is haunted. Although the restaurant is decorated so beautifully in a mission style, it feels very new and if you didn't know the story, there is no creepy feeling at all. The service was outstanding. Our server never rushed us, but was very attentive and knowledgeable about all parts of the menu, including the beer and wine choices. The food was excellent, one of the best filets I have ever had and cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered had flavor that was spot on. This gem is worth a drive for a special meal. And don't forget to check out the second floor to see the bathroom where the previous owner has made an appearance and to see the newspaper articles telling the history.

Mission Table was totally worth the drive from Traverse City. The setting is beautiful-mansion like house, green, perfectly kept forest, and sparkling lake view. Wait staff was discreet and perfectly timed. The food was excellent. We had the smoky corn chowder, beef filet, and special of the day. Every bite was delightful. It was our best meal while on vacation in Michigan.

We enjoyed the service, locally made wine and our entrees. I ordered lake trout and my husband ordered lamb. Our salads were locally sourced and I especially enjoyed my beet salad with lemon vinegarette.
