Super 8 Three Rivers

I thought the rate was a bit pricey for a room in an older motel in a small town, but had no choice and was not aware of alternatives.

Stayed in Three Rivers MI Super 8 twice driving back and forth to Iowa to visit the in-laws ... specifically chose this location due to favorable TrupAdvisor reviews posted thru Wyndham Reward website ... those reviews were accurate and this Super 8 is definitely worth the drive 12 miles north from Interstate 80 thru Indiana ... very clean rooms without glaring deficiencies, only problem was a noisy toilet due to a leaking flapper ball assembly inside the toilet tank ... interestingly, a Trip Advisor review had ntoed exactly this problem in a room and I must have gotten the same room without anyone fixing the toilet tank ... I fixed it myself, the flapper ball chain was too long and stuck inside the tank drain opening when the flapper ball shut itself to seal the opening, simply shortened the chain and problem fixed ... saved the motel management a $75 plumber call for free ... breakfast has the usual grain and sugar based products, glaringly did not have fresh fruit available and I would urge management to have bananas, oranges, and apples for guests ... front staff was pleasant enough, some more so than others depending on time of day or night ... area behind the motel for walking pets was about 100 yards long and 20 feet wide, nice space that connected to large fields further out back near hospital and other busieneses .. those larger fields covered about 2 + acres and had tree edges and wild areas that are overrun with rabbits, something our 2 dogs found quite enchanting ... one of the nicer places I have seen for pet exercising on the road, if you are a pet owner take note ... would definitely stay here again, very good value for the $$, very clean and an excellent travel value ...

Tons of family came into town for a wedding and we had quite a few rooms. Hotel had great prices, decent breakfast, comfortable rooms, and the ladies at the front desk were beyond pleasant. The location was easy to find right off the highway, and just around the corner from the fun downtown area.

This is a discount chain property by the side of the highway - not the Four Seasons. We stayed for two nights the past weekend as overflow guests at a family lake cottage - not enough beds, so we opted for the cheap hotel option 20 minutes away. We found it met the expectations for this kind of property:

Pros:
1) it's clean, neat, and well kept.
2) it's "newish" - not old and weatherbeaten, but not brand new either.
3) nice indoor swimming pool.
4) nice grill and patio space out back that was covered and could accommodate a large group.
5) the staff was pleasant and welcoming.

Cons:
1) no soundproofing - we heard the people in the rooms on either side of us and also above us all night. and our room faced the parking lot and any voices or noise out there came right through the walls.
2) the fan on the air conditioner was so loud it sounded like a plane preparing for takeoff.
3) the small exercise room had an "out of order" sign on the door.
4) the breakfast is all carbs - dry cereal, bagels & muffins, and a waffle machine. no friut, no dairy, no protien.
5) the mattress and pillows left plenty to be desired - barely in the "comfortable" category.

Again, you get what you pay for here. A place to rest your head before moving on. Its functional and serves its purpose. There is a Meijer store across the highway and plenty of restaurant options within blocks. I"m not in a rush to come back but it served it's purpose and we got a 20% discount by reserving online at the Super8 site.

Room Tip: top floor rooms don't have people above you, so that eliminates one noise source. rooms ending...

Standard Super 8 rooms--clean, etc. Our problem was with staff and lack of customer service. We booked two rooms last night to sleep before going up to Frankfort for a wedding. At midnight, four guys starting a tailgating party outside our room in the parking lot--heavy drinking, loud yelling. At 2am we called the front desk asking them to talk to the men--front desk said, "I will look into it.". The party continued until 4am when they were out of beer. In the morning, we spoke to Mr. Patel, advising him that we had called the front desk, and that nothing had been done. He stated he would talk to the night help but could offer us no compensation. We were looking for just one of the rooms compensated, as we came to sleep and we didn't get the opportunity to do that. Mr. Patel kept repeating, "I can do nothing. I can do nothing about those people.".

The bottom line is that something could have been done. The parking lot is part of Super 8 property. Police could have been called; something could have been done.

It seems as though Super 8 is okay with tailgating with booze in the parking lot, but not okay with children being noisy (this was on a sign on the front desk).

To top it off, we got sick from the milk served at breakfast not 15 minutes after we check out.

As a Wyndham Rewards member and Wyndham Resort owner, I expected better from this company.

Avoid if at all possible!

This property offers good service, an indoor pool and an adequate breakfast with a reasonable rate close to Kalamazoo or Indiana Amish country. Our two double bed room was clean and had all of the promised amenities. Free wireless internet was offered and met our needs. The pool was nice as the temperature outside was HOT! The exercise room offers an elliptical, stationary bicycle and treadmill. The breakfast is very basic, muffins, coffee, juice, bread and make your own waffles, but it is included in the rate. We paid about $65 per night, and found this to be a fair value at that price. Worth a look if you're traveling to the Three Rivers/Kalamazoo area.

The service from the get-go was great. My phone calls were answered when I was running late (12:15am) from the airport. I was assured the room would be available.

When I needed an iron and ironing board they had laon me theirs.

The room was clean....everyday....including bedding.

Breakfast was fine.

I have nothing but praise for this place.

Thank you
