This is a new bed and breakfast in a historical building. The two gentlemen who own and run Three Oaks did a wonderful job with the planning and decorating of the home. They reside downstairs so are on premise in case of questions, concerns or needs. Guest rooms are upstairs and the steps are pretty narrow. The building sits in the center of this small town so you can walk to the few shops and theaters located here. There are active train tracks in the center of town but we didn't hear them at night so they didn't hinder sleep. Breakfast was very nice. Hostesses are congenial and knowledgeable about the area.

Room Tip: We had the fireplace suite which was quite pricey. This was the only disappointment as the fireplace was fake. There was only one chair in the room. You couldn't see the fireplace from bed unless you were laying with your head in the feet area. Room was rather small for the amount of money charged.

I am not a person who normally clicks with small b&bs. I like my space. I do not like the feeling of intruding on someone's home, etc.

To my surprise, i so enjoyed my weekend at Three Oaks Inn. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable. It is asthetically pleasing but not fussy or showy. It sticks to the old adage of "have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful". The artwork, the textiles, the paint colors, and the overall design are lovely. One can truly feel at home in the common rooms. The owners are kind, helpful and interesting without being "too much so".

I highly recommend this inn. I look forward to going back someday soon.

We were looking for somewhere in Michigan for a quick weekend trip but couldn't decide on where. A vendor at the Logan Square farmer's market recommended Three Oaks and mentioned that they just opened a B&B in town. We were so lucky for that chance encounter because Three Oaks Inn was fantastic. We stayed in the Palladian Suite which was spacious and really nicely decorated. You can tell they paid a lot of attention to detail in decorating the room and the whole Inn. The Innkeepers, Ron & Ken, were super friendly and very helpful. The Inn is located blocks from downtown Three Oaks which is lined with antique shops, an indie movie theater (the Vickers), and a few cafes. It's also driving distance (5 minutes) to New Buffalo
