“Surprising Treat”
Reviewed September 2, 2014

We visited Three Oaks, Michigan to do some geocaching and wine tasting in the area and we were quite surprised to find a distillery in this small town. We tasted a flight of whiskeys, ordered some mixed drinks and appetizers to round out a small lunch. We especially liked the rye and the W.R. Whiskey. The bartender was very friendly and helpful, the appetizers were delicious as well as attractively presented. We will be visiting this distillery again.

First visit to them. Great pulled chicken sandwich and great atmosphere, loved the building. Will definitely make it a regular stop!

“Fun stop on our wine tour”
Reviewed August 19, 2014 via mobile

Went with girlfriends who enjoyed whiskey and rum tasting flights. Liked the interior. Didn't try the good. Service was super slow.
Will go back and try the good a different day and hopefully get a different server.

“Worth the Journey to Journeyman”
Reviewed August 4, 2014

We were on our way driving up to Mackinac Island from Chicago and we saw a billboard for this place. We had plenty of extra time built into our trip so we figured why not. It is a few miles off of the highway, but pretty easy to find and get to. We were sold from the minute we pulled in. The building is an amazing old warehouse just off the main road and it gets even better when you walk in. A rustic old feel and a great atmosphere. There is no wait staff so you find a place to sit and get your drinks from the bar. A smaller, but very nice menu offers enough to enhance the experience and soak up some of the samples. You also pick up your own food from the window, but it gives you a chance to see the place and the distillery in motion. They had people at tables working on all of the bottles while we were there. We had a flight of their light and dark liquor options and both were great. I followed that up with one of the best gin and tonic's I've had with our warm pretzels. It was well worth the time it took to get there and the time we spent there. If you have the chance to make it a part of your trip I would do it!

“Handcrafted vintage cocktails, great vibe, new American spirits”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

LOVED LOVED LOVED Journeyman! Went there twice while on vacation in Michigan. My husband and I are "cocktailers" and enjoy, well, quite frankly... drinking! The gin is some of the best small batch gin I have ever had - is it Hendricks? No, but, it is full of botanicals and offers a flavorful spirit that is perfect for adding tonic. We had an Old Fashioned, Moscow Mule, Jalapeno Margarita, Gin and Tonic, and some gin drink I cannot remember the name of but, it had lavender syrup in it (which was wonderful). We did not eat here - they have a small menu - but we were there strictly for cocktails before seeing a movie at the little theater in town (which was also wonderful). Bought a bottle of Gin and a bottle of Jalapeno spirits (which I am pretty sure is more like Golden Grain with jalapeno but was amazing in a margarita). My ONLY critique - they should use tonic syrup vs. pre-made tonic water. It would be so much better and fit right into their menu. Great and friendly mixologists as well who made great recommendations. ---Not really a full-service restaurant (not sure why it is really classified this way) and only offers small bites---
