“A hidden gem.”

Lumberman's Monument Park
Reviewed June 19, 2013

I stop here every time I am near the area. It is a very beautiful spot, great for relaxing, hiking and taking photos. Bring your camera. Take the 272 steps to the bottom for a great view of the nearby sand dunes that fall into the Au Sable River. Another hidden spot that most people don't know about is Iargo Springs just up the road. It has one of my favorite views of the Au Sable and maybe Michigan.

Sites big enough for even the largest families. Boats can be pulled right up to each site. Views that will take your breath away. All at a very cheap price. The last time we stayed it was $10 a night.

I love to take pictures of nature and this place has a beautiful setting just about everywhere you look. Be warned, the walk "down" the steps is a lot different than the walk back up.

This is the place to come and see the Might AuSable River at her finest. Any time of year this is a fun place to visit, but the fall is beautiful. Educational and fun for the whole family.

Very nice place to see! A lot of stairs, but its worth it, easy going down, great exercise coming back up! Have on your gym miles. Don't worry it's rest stops every few flight of stairs. good historical info about The Lumberjacks that I didn't know and the views on your way down are simply beautiful! It's worth seeing. Hope this helps! Enjoy!
