Two other recent reviews gave low marks, so we were hesitant about returning to the Inn despite many prior visits which were positive. We were so glad that we didn't listen to the poor reviews (maybe the restaurant was just having a bad day - it happens). We arrived for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and it was moderately busy, mostly outside on the deck. We first ordered our usual first course, the broiled-in-butter mushrooms, which came out in about 5 minutes and were sizzling in butter, seasoned well, and exactly as good as ever. For entrees, we had the BBQ Pork Round w/cornbread and mashed sweet potatoes, and the "Fried Mac and Cheese" with cole slaw. The Main dishes came out in about 10 more minutes, and were nice and hot. The BBQ is excellent - we could smell the smokers as we walked in, and the meat was falling apart it was so tender. The cornbread was - I kid you not - the size of a loaf of banana nut bread - HUGE - and very good. The mashed sweet potatoes - a large serving- were also very good. My husband wasn't wild about the Fried Mac & Cheese, but I think it was tasty...just an unusual preparation. Cole slaw was creamy and cold. We had plenty to box up and take home due to the large portions. Our server, Shalaun, was very attentive and pleasant, and kept the drinks filled and checked on us often without hovering. The price was very reasonable considering the amount of food. I hope the recent reviewers who had bad experiences will give the Inn another try - our experience was just as positive as it has been on many past visits. We will be back!
